The Cosentino Group, the multinational and global leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, organised an event in Madrid in order to announce the new developments made in 2016 with respect to Dekton®, its revolutionary ultracompact surface for the architecture and design sector.

The presentation, which was held the night of April 21st at Madrid School of Interior Decorators and Designers (CODDIM), was attended by dozens of professional architects and designed from Madrid and a large number of marble suppliers and kitchen and bathroom stores included in the Cosentino loyalty programmes “Loyalty” and “Elite”.

This year, Cosentino is launching Dekton® XGloss, a new high-tech polished ultracompact surface line that is characterised by its dazzling, crystalline shine. This new series, which has five colours: Halo, Splendor, Blaze, Lumina and Spectra, was possible thanks to an advanced nanotechnological treatment and a mechanical polishing process that gives it an extraordinary shine. This pioneering, exclusive treatment that is based on nanotechnology also gives Dekton® XGloss water-repellent properties that generate considerable stain resistance, without altering the rest of the material’s properties. Its spectacular appearance, together with the extremely high levels of hardness and resistance of the Cosentino ultracompact surface, give Dekton® XGloss a set of exceptional properties that are unique in the market. No other surface exists today with similar characteristics and this combination of aesthetic and technical features. Furthermore, this year, Dekton® by Cosentino presents a new line of six colours that are linked with natural and industrial references. Entzo, Gada, Blanc Concrete, Trilium, Aldem and Valterra are the names of these six new finishes which have been created to reproduce the immortal beauty of nature, the captivating personality of wood and the intense character of industrial, rust-coloured tones. Diverse textures and finishes in a combination of functionality and aesthetics, adapted to the different preferences of the end consumer and of each market. The Dekton® by Cosentino surface and the more than 30 different tones currently included in its range of colours are the perfect choice for use in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor architectural applications: paving, steps, kitchens, bathrooms and all types of coatings. All this is possible thanks to the nature of the material and the exclusive sinterised particle technology (SPT) used in its manufacture that gives it a set of superior properties such as resistance of UV radiation, scratches, stains or thermal shock, among others.

Paula Albendin, Dekton® Product Manager, was the person entrusted with explaining all these new features to the audience. “We continue our efforts to develop the new proposals that the market demands. Both Dekton® XGloss and the Entzo, Gada, Blanc Concrete, Trilium, Aldem and Valterra colours were created in response to the aesthetic needs of consumers; through them, we provide innovative references that lead to the creation of unique designs that are not only beautiful, but stand out for their great functionality. Dekton® is the most advanced product that exists today in the global architecture and design surfaces market” said Albendin.
