In recent years, architects have turned to innovative materials to rejuvenate façades and give them a modern, minimalist aesthetic. This trend is clearly illustrated by a recent project in Ebreichsdorf, Austria, carried out by the studio Binder Dach- und Fassadentechnik GmbH. The project features Cosentino’s Dekton material, which played a key role in the renovation.
Of particular note is the transformation of the existing timber façade into a contemporary masterpiece, achieved through the use of a ventilated façade clad in 4 mm Dekton. “This collaboration has not only updated the aesthetic appeal of the building, but also introduced an elegant design that blends harmoniously with its surroundings,” says the studio. Cosentino’s ultra-compact surface not only enhances the visual appeal of the building, but also offers significant practical benefits, making it an ideal choice for façades.
The façade was installed using a structural chemical fixing (DKC) system on Omega and Zeta vertical metal profiles. This system is perfect for those looking for lightweight, cost effective, versatile formats and easy installation for their façades.
Dekton, a versatile and functional surface
Dekton’s exceptional design possibilities and outstanding properties attracted the Austrian team. “Dekton gave us the flexibility to integrate different elements to create a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space,” say the designers. The versatile material was also used for the façade, outdoor flooring, an outdoor kitchen and an outdoor table, significantly enhancing both the functionality and visual appeal of the project.
Specifically, the Bromo, Aura, Laurent and Nilium colours were chosen for their minimalist and harmonious qualities. “These shades contribute to a serene and elegant appearance that is perfectly in line with the project’s design philosophy,” the architects add. The colour palette not only elevates the beauty of the material, but also harmonises with the natural surroundings of Ebreichsdorf.
Why Dekton for outdoor use?
Its durability ensures that façade, floors and outdoor furniture will look great for years to come. “The material’s resistance to the elements, thanks to its extremely low porosity, high hardness and UV resistance, makes it perfect for outdoor use, guaranteeing flawless surfaces regardless of weather conditions,” the team points out.
Furthermore, the fact that Dekton is available in a range of thicknesses and colours allowed for seamless integration, enhancing aesthetics and, more importantly, functionality. The result is an outdoor space that is visually appealing and inviting to spend time in, yet highly practical and durable. Outdoor living, better living.
