Dekton® by Cosentino, the new ultra-compact surface by Cosentino Group for the world of architecture and decoration, is the major innovation of the Spanish multinational in Construmat 2013.
This is the first time that Cosentino will unveil Dekton® to the public. Dekton® is its new ultra-compact surface that creates a revolutionary new surface category and that was established to become a leader in the global market of surfaces for architecture and design both indoors and outdoors.
Dekton® has been Cosentino’s biggest technological and commercial challenge to date and it is the result of more than five years intense work, an economic investment of 128 million euros and 22,000 hours of research by the Cosentino Group R&D Department.
Dekton®, owing to its exclusive Particle Sintering Technology (PST) manufacturing process, boasts excellent mechanical performance, decoration in volume and large format pieces. Dekton® offers architects and designers, infinite design possibilities that respond to the current needs of consumers around the world.
Cosentino Group, with its 160m2 stand at Construmat (P3-03-F-649), showcases some of the colours that form part of the initial colour range of Dekton® and that are grouped into three collections: Solid Collection, Natural Collection and Tech Collection, which all fully identify with the natural references of the material.
The showcooking event features two elegant worktops in the colours Sirius and Domoos (Solid Collection); and in the area exclusively dedicated to Dekton®, other tones such as Spectra (Solid Collection), Danae, Sirocco (Natural Collection), Keranium, Kadum and Strato (Tech Collection) can be seen.
The Spanish company also attends this key event presenting other innovations for Silestone® such as the Nebula Code collection, comprising five new colours that represent that evolution of the popular series Silestone® Nebula. Taking a step ahead into avant-garde design, the new colours – Helix, Pulsar, Daria, Istmo and Dreis – are inspired by the look of natural stone, with the surface featuring veins and a sense of movement. This new range of colours offers uniqueness and beauty combined with the performance and reliability of Silestone® by Cosentino.
Silestone® is also available in Suede, its new finish with a matt texture, which transmits a unique sensual feel owing to its beauty and elegance. Silestone® Suede offers a matt finish, which needs no additional products to enhance its tone; it has extraordinary stain resistance properties, a smooth and very pleasant feel and totally consistent colour. Suede can be seen in the striking Silestone® worktop in colour Kensho, located in the bar area of the stand.
The space reserved for ECO by Cosentino®, Cosentino Group’s recycled surface presents its four latest colours launched on the market: Grey Moss, Creamstore, Red Pine and Forest Snow are characterised for their depth and elegance. With the addition of these colours, ECO by Cosentino® comes in a full range of tones that are ideal for any modern architectural design or project.
On the first day of the fair, Cosentino Group has organised, at its own stand, a press meeting to present Dekton®. Those attending have been able to enjoy a culinary show led by the Argentinean chef Chakall on Dekton® work surfaces.
Considered as one of the most important construction fairs on an international level, Construmat 2013 is held in Barcelona between 21 and 24 May, bringing together the best professionals and companies in the sector. For yet another year, Cosentino Group did not want to miss out on this key date, accompanied by its outstanding new innovations that position it once again as an exemplary company in the sector.
Launch of Book “A 90 cm sobre el suelo” (90 cm above ground level). On Thursday 23 May at 5.30 pm, Cosentino and the Silestone Institute will present the recently published “A 90 cm sobre el suelo,” a book that includes extensive research on the technical needs of current haute cuisine. “A 90 cm sobre el suelo,” offers criteria and advice from different professionals from the world of catering to facilitate operational fluidity, sustainability and energy efficiency in their facilities. The launch takes place in the Innovation Center at Construmat.
