Interiors that 'look beautiful from any angle'; use of natural materials; creation of comfortable and user-friendly spaces; connection with the outdoors; maximum spaciousness; attention to lighting... These are some of the principles that drive Kaja Design, and they are perfectly embodied in Resort House CORU.
The company has built a model home that perfectly reflects the experience of living in one of their properties. It is characterised by an extraordinary daytime area, 'an open-plan living-dining-kitchen space with a height of six metres,' as explained by its creators. This space features large windows that allow the outside nature to flow into the house, a large Quinn natural stone wall, and a spacious kitchen-diner separated from the living room by a raised area and distinct flooring.
'Kaja Design offers a modern resort style that combines handcrafted furniture and objects from Indonesia, directly imported by our company, with Italian designer furniture,' the company explains.
Extremely durable 'jewel' surfaces for premium design
In this setting, the kitchen worktop stands out, featuring a luxurious design by Cosentino that also extends to the cladding of the striking island. It is Dekton Taga, which combines grey and white tones with sophisticated brown veining. Its sumptuous pattern evokes the natural aesthetic of polished marble, with the same reflective qualities.
In addition to its minimal, barely noticeable joints 'that do not compromise the design,' the studio also highlights its 'compatibility with wood-effect surfaces,' which form a kind of addition to the island itself. They also emphasise 'the cleanliness achieved by adopting bright colours' like this one, as well as its 'high maintenance efficiency.'
A front that serves as an 'accent' in the kitchen
Both tones, the wood and Dekton Taga, perfectly complement the understated Dekton Laurent used for the kitchen front. Inspired by Port Laurent natural stone, its design features a dark brown background with golden veining crossing its surface, adding an elegant and premium touch to the space. In the words of Kaja Design, 'its unique patterns work as accents in the space.'
'We chose Dekton because it offers a wide variety of options to choose from, with abundant colours and designs that suit the space,' explain Kaja Design. 'We also considered its maintenance and functionality when used in wet areas like the kitchen,' they continue.
Dekton: high durability and ease of use
In this regard, the team refers to the extreme durability of Dekton in demanding spaces, as this ultracompact surface is completely resistant to scratches, stains, and extreme heat and cold. Additionally, its non-porous nature ensures resistance to liquids and bacteria, making it a highly hygienic and easy-to-clean material, perfect for the kitchen.
All of this contributes to the creation of a home with spaces that are both beautiful and comfortable, qualities the company aims to highlight. In fact, only ten groups of clients per year can access Resort House CORU, located in a tourist area of Japan: those who are considering undertaking a project with Kaja Design and want to fully immerse themselves in their construction philosophy.
