Ibiza is a paradise 365 days a year, and it is even more of a privilege to stay in accommodation that enhances its magic. That’s what Can Héctor villa has to offer: a guest house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room with coffee bar, two terraces and a swimming pool, all renovated by the Paechthold studio. The studio was able to introduce a cohesive design concept with Dekton as the unifying element across several spaces.
“The existing guest house was stripped down to the studs and completely renovated. Like a boutique hotel, each suite has been uniquely designed. The palette of colours and materials defines the name of each suite: Golden, Ocean and Sunset Bedroom. From the Sunset Bedroom, you can enjoy views of the sea as the sun sets,” explains the studio.
Situated on a hillside, the villa offers spectacular sea views. To share this hideaway with friends and family, the adjacent guest house has been completely renovated. In contrast to the minimalist, cubic design of the main house, the guest house features soft shapes and vibrant colours. What began as a modest renovation became a complete transformation, extending to the terraces and swimming pool. The design included everything from bespoke furniture to décor and crockery, delivered turnkey. The owners are now so pleased with the space that they haven’t yet decided where to accommodate their guests.
With the help of Spanish suppliers
Despite being a German studio, they were committed to working with Spanish manufacturers and selecting materials that could be easily handled by local companies on the island. This proved to be a wise choice as the project expanded and any replacements or additional bespoke products were managed without logistical complications. Parallel testing in Germany, Spain and Belgium also went smoothly.
The indoor and outdoor flooring had to meet hotel standards of high quality, durability and ease of maintenance. “We also wanted a material that was suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. And Dekton proved to be perfect for this.”
The colours chosen were Dekton Nebbia and Dekton Taga
These colours, Dekton Nebbia and Dekton Taga, are used throughout the house, including the floors, wall cladding, stairs, window sills, washbasins, kitchen worktops, bedside tables, coffee bar, indoor and outdoor staircases and outdoor shower.
Dekton Nebbia, with a fine-grained white creamy base dotted with warm taupe hues, is ideal for façades, floors and any interior and exterior cladding, reinterpreting the texture of Grigio Alpi, a variety with macrofossils of the Vicenza Stone which has been quarried since Roman times. Its design makes it particularly suitable for applications where pattern continuity at the edges is required.
Dekton Taga, on the other hand, is an interpretation of natural stone adapted to the latest trends that maintains the character of natural stone. Its greyish tones with marble and crystalline veins enhance its natural structure, while its gorgeous gloss and aesthetic quality make this model a premium product.
