Situated to the West of Winchester City Centre, the new private residential development in St Catherine’s Place is the latest project from housebuilders Shorewood Homes to specify Dekton surfaces throughout. Contemporising the rich history of Hampshire, St Catherine’s Place promises its residents a sophisticated forever home, made all the more beautiful and practical by Dekton surfaces.
Showcasing its versatility, Dekton was chosen throughout the interiors. From the master en-suite, family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom to the kitchen worktops and shelving, the ultracompact surface was an obvious choice for this luxury new-build.
For the kitchen, Dekton Rem was selected for the worktops, kitchen island and splashback. An elegant, marble-inspired finish with warm brown and grey veining with hints of gold, the surface breathes lightness and airiness into the space, effortlessly complementing the neutral flooring and upholstery. As an innovative ultra-compact surface, this technologically advanced surface is scratch, stain, heat and water resistant, as well as being nonporous, which makes it the perfect surface for an area of such high traffic like the kitchen.
Just as the kitchen requires surfaces that can keep pace with the wear and tear of everyday life, the bathroom follows suit. All the bathrooms in this property also feature various Dekton designs. Dekton Moone takes centre stage in the family bathroom, all en-suite bathrooms and in the downstairs cloakroom. A warm white surface, Dekton Moone is part of the Solid Collection, a series characterised by nuance-free shades, perfect for creating uniform and well-balanced designs. Inspired by the mysterious and inviting moonlight with its warm glow, it is a timeless shade that brings a sense of spaciousness to any room, blending in with any decorative style. Dekton Moone was used across vanity surfaces, shelving and the family bath in these rooms.
In the master en-suite, Dekton Lucid Onirika was used for the vanity surface and the wall (with niche) behind the bath. A soft white slab featuring brown and grey veining, the design epitomises luxury living, bringing an ethereal feel to the space. The multiple applications of Dekton Lucid created a truly uniform look that similarly enhanced the illusion of space.
Dekton Limbo Onirika was specified for the vanity surface in the family bathroom – another light cream-toned base with fine, pale veins running through the marbling, creating a fascinating neural network that moves in the same direction. Dekton Limbo has a polished finish, perfect for creating a refined and elegant environment. In the second-floor shower room, Dekton Albarium was selected for all floor and shower tiles to give a super cohesive aesthetic.
Dekton continues into the dressing room – where Dekton Morpheus was used for the central island and countertops; a durable slab with intensely veiny patterns. The white veining forms a striking contrast with the dark background, giving a touch of sophistication to the space.
This technologically advanced material is created by combining a sophisticated blend of over 20 natural minerals and recycled material using 100% renewable energy. Offering great strength and versatility, it is the optimum surface for residential properties of any size. The only cradle-to-grave carbon neutral surface of its kind on the market, Dekton is the greener choice. From the extraction of the raw material and the production cycle to its use and the end of its life, Dekton has offset its emissions by investing in GHG emission reduction projects. These projects are not only responsible, but also have a strong social component supporting the SDGs of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
With its architectural ethos and design sentiment to juxtapose classical with contemporary, all Shorewood Homes projects are timeless but highly practical. Commenting on the St Catherine’s Place development, Simon Machola Co-founder of Shorewood Homes states, “Our company ethos ‘built for living, valued for life’ is one we stand by on every single project. This commitment to quality and delivering luxuriously comfortable homes that are built to last, means we are very particular about the materials we specify. Offering superb functionality and a timeless aesthetic, Dekton was an obvious choice for these surfaces.”
