Right in the middle of the “Asian Tour” and before taking on the ante penultimate race next Sunday on Phillip Island, the MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo today visited the Sydney showroom of Grupo Cosentino, the Spanish company, leader in production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design.
On one of his first appointments since arriving in Australia, the 5-times world motorcycling champion and friend of the Spanish company, wanted to the see the Cosentino City store in Sydney for himself. The showroom, the first of its kind opened by the Spanish multinational in 2013, is located in the heart of the Alexandria district, the financial hub and home to the major design brands in the Australian city, and has an impressive 300 square metres divided into different exhibition spaces and offices.
During the visit, conceived as a “closing party” as the current MotoGP season is drawing to a close and the Spanish rider will also be changing teams next year, Lorenzo explored all the areas of the showroom, and met a number of Cosentino’s Australian customers and collaborators in person. The Meet and Greet session was also attended by different stone professionals, bathroom experts and architects, as well as media representatives. The whole Cosentino City team was also there, under the Australia Commercial Director, Gary Isherwood.
Lorenzo has been closely linked to the Spanish company since 2011 when Silestone ®, the world’s leading quartz surface, became the Mallorcan motorcyclist’s sponsor. The relationship continued through 2013 and 2014 through another of Cosentino’s key brands, Dekton®, which continues to be Lorenzo’s personal sponsor.
