Looking at the photos of this apartment in Ho Chi Minh only gives a slight idea of the intense sensations experienced inside: while the large windows reveal the hustle and colours of the city, the space feels completely calm. The combination is irresistible, even for those who live there. “We experienced a beautiful moment when the owners entered the finished space. They paused. They smiled. No words were needed. That’s when we knew: the materials, the light, the silence... everything worked. This project wasn’t about ‘showing off’, but about belonging. Dekton helped us design not just a space, but a feeling.”
Three Dekton tones creating atmosphere
This is explained by TQH Architects, the studio responsible for this project that perfectly materialised the clients’ wishes through the choice of surfaces like Dekton Marmorio. Inspired by the elegant Travertino Navona, the colour was used on the island, the front and worktop of the kitchen and pantry, as well as on the vanity and sinks.
The owners fell in love at first sight with the calm it conveyed and chose the colours Dekton Aeris and Dekton Danae (used on the flooring and wall cladding respectively) to complement it: “We’ve always felt more comfortable in soft, neutral spaces. In places that don’t draw attention but convey peace,” say the residents of this privileged home, a haven of “relaxed luxury,” as they describe it themselves.
A fluid, timeless and functional space
“The most remarkable feature of this residence lies in its silence: a calm that doesn’t stem from absence but from intention,” explain TQH Architects. “We created a spatial rhythm through continuity: uninterrupted planes, minimal transitions and a palette of soft, warm materials. Dekton played a key role in unifying the kitchen, pantry, bathroom, flooring and cladding into a unique and fluid experience.”
What the professionals were looking for in the ultracompact surface was for it to embody the concept of beauty and timelessness they sought for the project. But they also needed versatility to use it in different applications, and durability so that the calm the space conveys would also be reflected in its ease of daily use.
The advantages of Dekton
“Dekton, by Cosentino, offered precisely that: aesthetic harmony, high performance under pressure and freedom in shapes,” explain the architects. The team particularly valued the four-millimetre slabs, as they provided the flexibility needed to maintain design precision on surfaces as varied as vertical walls, floors or sinks. They also appreciated their large size, which offers a virtually seamless finish perfect for reducing visual clutter, as well as their tonal consistency, which helped them create a cohesive narrative across all rooms, an ‘invisible thread’ now connecting the different areas of the house.
“Dekton stood out among other options for its functional performance: its resistance to heat in the kitchen, humidity in the bathroom and scratches throughout the house,” recall TQH Architects. “At first, we were drawn to its appearance: elegant and natural. But now, after living with it daily, what we appreciate most is its practicality. We cook every day, have a cat, host friends... and yet, everything remains clean and perfect. Dekton has given us peace of mind. It’s beautiful, but above all, it’s reliable,” conclude the homeowners.
