After nearly four years, Somni returns to West Hollywood, reimagined by Chef Aitor Zabala as a standalone destination. The new Somni is a manifestation of culinary and design freedom, carefully created to reflect Zabala’s Spanish roots while embracing the creative energy of Los Angeles. Every aspect of the restaurant is meticulously designed to create an oasis of comfort, an intimate yet inspiring space where craftsmanship, materiality, and storytelling converge. Collaborating with both local and international artisans, Zabala selected materials to honor his Spanish heritage while seamlessly blending into Somi’s contemporary vision.

A particular emphasis was placed on noble materials like wood and stone crafted with ancient techniques to create a space that feels like home yet transports diners into an immersive experience. Art is ever-present, a reminder of human creativity and the pursuit of something greater.
Among the materials chosen to shape the restaurant’s aesthetic is Dekton Marmorio, featured predominantly on the restaurant walls, main island, and cabinets. Inspired by the beauty of natural stone, its soft veining and warm hues enhance the restaurant’s sense of harmony and sophistication. Dekton’s durability and resistance to heat, scratches, and stains makes it ideal for high-traffic dining spaces, ensuring that the surface maintains its pristine elegance for years to come.
At its core, Somni tells the story of a Spandiard in America, embracing his surroundings while honoring his Basque and Catalan roots. Cosentino, a Spanish company, is proud to be part of this creative vision and bring a taste of Spain innovation to Los Angeles.
