Bespoke furniture design is undoubtedly at the heart of 2024’s interior design trends. This year, personalisation and exclusivity will become the hallmarks of contemporary homes, reflecting the unique character and lifestyle of each homeowner.
In this article, we will explore the best design ideas using Silestone furniture, while keeping an eye on this year’s hottest trends.
The latest trends in bespoke furniture design
Sustainability and recycled materials
Sustainability continues to be a top priority in interior design. In 2024, there will be a surge in demand for biomaterials and recycled materials. Bespoke furniture makers will increasingly use certified wood, bamboo and organic fabrics. In addition, the use of non-toxic paints and finishes will be crucial to minimising environmental impact. Designers are experimenting with both traditional and modern techniques to work with these materials, resulting in unique pieces that combine craftsmanship with environmental awareness.
This is how the groundbreaking collaboration between the Formafantasma studio and Silestone XM was born, resulting in the new EARTHIC collection.
The EARTHIC LAB installation at Fuorisalone during Milan Design Week showcased the colors of this new collection, brought to life by original furniture of Silestone benches and screens designed by Formafantasma.
This collection marks a significant shift in the design approach to Silestone surfaces. It features a new formulation with a maximum silica content of 10% and an innovative blend of premium minerals, recycled glass, PET, bioresin and fragments of the ultra-compact Dekton surface. This allows EARTHIC to boast up to 30% recycled content in its surfaces.
Ultimately, these advances aim to reduce the extraction and use of raw materials and minimise CO2 emissions. It is also worth noting that, thanks to Hybriq+ Technology, Silestone XM is manufactured using 99% recycled water and 100% certified renewable electricity.
Multifunctionality and flexibility
Modern living demands smart solutions that adapt to your needs. Multifunctional furniture is now key, especially in urban homes where space is at a premium. Think sofa beds, extendable tables and modular storage units – they are increasingly in demand as they can transform any space and suit different uses. This flexible approach to design maximises space and offers comfort and practicality without compromising on style.
Minimalist aesthetics and clean lines
The minimalist trend shows no signs of slowing down in 2024, with a focus on simplicity and clean lines. The bespoke designs are characterised by understated elegance – it’s all about ‘less is more’. Simple finishes, unadorned surfaces and neutral color palettes create a sense of calm sophistication.
As well as being aesthetically pleasing, this minimalist approach also makes it easier to customise. Each piece can be perfectly tailored to the space and the customer’s taste.
Customisation at its very best
In the bespoke furniture world of 2024, customisation reigns supreme. People are looking for one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect their unique character and lifestyle. Designers are responding to this demand by offering customisable options for every aspect of furniture, from materials and colors to sizes and finishes. This level of customisation allows for the creation of truly unique spaces, where each piece tells a personal story.
Mixing styles and eras
The ability to mix styles and eras is another exciting trend in bespoke furniture. This year we will see a harmonious marriage of modern and vintage elements, creating dynamic and eclectic spaces. Imagine contemporary Silestone pieces juxtaposed with retro or classic touches, adding personality and depth to your interiors. This trend encourages designers to play with contrasts, resulting in wonderfully surprising and personal spaces.
An explosion of bold colors and finishes
While neutrals remain a firm favourite, 2024 also embraces a bolder side with an explosion of vibrant colors and unique finishes in bespoke furniture. Think of statement pieces in colors like Silestone Arcilla Red as focal points that bring a burst of energy to your living space.
Metallic finishes, such as gold and bronze, are also becoming increasingly popular, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication. This trend allows homeowners to express their creativity and make their homes truly their own.
