An old, three-hundred-year-old house in Italian Piedmont became a Polish journalist's dream, and the pandemic brought changes in his life that allowed him to realise this daring plan. Today, the house, located in a medieval town called Orsara Bormida, in Piedmont, has already been restored and its Italian flair continues to please its new inhabitants.
One part of the house is about three hundred years old and is glued to a stately rock on which plants climb. Just above it rises the castle and the chapel that belongs to it. From the windows of the modern part of the house, where the kitchen connects to the dining room, there is a view of hills overgrown with vineyards. It was this scenery that fascinated Krzysztof and his wife in Piedmont.
“We were looking for a place to live in Italy. We wanted peace and quiet, sunshine, contact with nature, a return to life as it used to be, where the local community is doing well. Shortly after the pandemic, we carried out the plan and bought a house,” comments Krzysztof.
With such a typical Italian landscape, everyday cooking and exploring new flavours is a pleasure. And the local markets full of seasonal fruit and vegetables, fish and meat make it hard to resist local culinary temptations. The cuisine is definitely the heart of this place! This makes it all the more pleasing that a stylish worktop from Dekton Reverie has found its place in it, which, although it may be synonymous with modernity, blends so perfectly with the old Italian interiors.
