The Barrio Playa residence, located in the Terralagos residential complex in Canning (Buenos Aires), is designed around a concept of verticality that runs through all spaces. The project, with 485 square metres of built area and developed by Estudio Jankovic, revolves around a large central double-height space that connects the ground floor with the upper level, serving as the structural and visual core of the house. Throughout the various spaces, Dekton and Silestone provide character and continuity in a wide range of applications.
A kitchen with Dekton as the main feature
In this home, Cosentino materials play a decisive role in defining the spaces, both for their durability and their integration with the architecture. The kitchen, open to the dining room and overlooking the garden, showcases one of the most expressive uses of Dekton. The worktop, front, and island are clad in Dekton Aura, a white finish with grey veining that mimics the natural pattern of marble and, when mirrored, creates precise and elegant visual continuity. The choice of this material addresses the need to combine brightness and durability: its properties make it resistant to heat, stains, and daily wear, while its refined appearance enhances the overall clarity of the space. The edge of the material has been carefully crafted to maintain a sense of solidity without compromising lightness, and the large formats used allow the surface to be read as a single continuous plane.
On the splashback, the same Dekton Aura is applied as cladding, extending from the worktop. The grooved design of the material, with Dekton Ukiyo Aura, introduces texture and adds rhythm to the ensemble, emphasising the purity of lines that characterises the project. It is also found on the wall cladding that houses a television. The result is a kitchen that is both functional and architectural.
A showcase in the bathrooms
In the bathrooms, the project relies on a combination of tones and textures that distinguish each space without breaking overall coherence. The main bathroom features Dekton Natura, with a light surface and subtle veining, along with an integrated sink, a solution that provides visual cleanliness and eliminates joints. In the guest and courtesy bathrooms, Dekton Somnia and Dekton Domoos are used, both in darker shades and matte finishes that create contrast with the rest of the home.
Dekton Somnia introduces intense and organic veining that stands out against white surfaces, while Dekton Domoos, in deep grey, is suited to unique pieces such as the totem with an integrated sink. In the secondary bathrooms and laundry room, Silestone White Zeus is used, a classic and bright finish that facilitates daily maintenance and ensures durability even in high-use areas.
Elegant and functional auxiliary elements
The use of Cosentino materials also extends to furniture and auxiliary elements. In the living room, a coffee table made of Silestone White Zeus reflects natural light and reinforces continuity with adjacent spaces. Its smooth and durable surface allows for everyday use without wear, maintaining the purity of the design.
Additionally, Dekton Somnia appears on a small side table attached to the screen that serves as a divider in the living room. Other elements, such as the worktops in the outdoor patio kitchen and the entrance, are made with Dekton Domoos, adding sobriety and coherence to the ensemble.
