When you enter the Bloom Objects shop, you will quickly forget everything you thought you knew about artificial flowers: her 3D printed, sculptural and collectable pieces go far beyond the crude image typically associated with these elements, offering a delicate and flawless aesthetic.
“We realised just how much money we were spending on flowers each month to style our objects. This led us to decide on finding some stunning artificial flower masterpieces that we could reuse whenever we styled our items. We weren’t the only ones who loved the idea, and that’s how our artificial flower collection was born,” recalls Pernille Vejbæk, founder of Bloom Objects.
From her shop in Aarhus, Denmark, she sells vases and flowers of her own design, all made from bioplastics produced locally in Aarhus from corn and sugar cane, making them completely ecological and biodegradable.
Light, strong and sustainable pedestals
The designer’s commitment to sustainability is also evident in her shop, where Vejbæk has chosen the carbon-neutral surface Dekton for the pedestals on which her creations are displayed, as well as for the shop counter.
Durability was another key factor in her choice of this Cosentino product. “I have a beautiful Dekton Arga worktop in my kitchen at home and I love it for its durability. I never have to worry about what I put on it, which is an important feature in a busy retail shop where I want my staff and customers to relax and enjoy themselves,” explains Vejbæk.
Dekton Helena: luxurious without being over the top
In this case, Dekton Helena was chosen as the colour for the shop fittings. A harmonious blend of white and grey tones with a delicate distressed texture, Helena captures the depth of the onyx stone that inspired it. “To combine with the Bloom Objects brand, I wanted a clean, calm and elegant colour. Personally, I’m a fan of the onyx style – it’s luxurious without being over the top”.
The result is a collection of timeless pieces that are “calm, subtle, yet intriguing” and look sumptuous without being ostentatious. “The counters and pedestals display the Bloom Objects designs in a flexible and elegant way. They are visually striking and can withstand frequent use and movement from place to place,” says Vejbæk. “Dekton surfaces are easy to clean, low maintenance and durable,” she concludes.
