It all started with an idea: “My design vision for the bathroom was to create a retreat that is both dramatic and luxurious, conveying a sense of indulgence,” say the Irish company Not Just Granite. “We wanted the space to feel contemporary, with clean lines, rich and enveloping textures, and a palpable balance between bold statement and refined elegance. The goal was to create an atmosphere that felt like a high-end spa,” continue these worktop manufacturing experts.
The team has more than achieved their goal in the property's bathroom, using an immersive environment of deep blacks broken by complex veining. “We chose Silestone Et Noir because its dark and rich tones, crossed by striking golden veining, perfectly captured the dramatic and luxurious atmosphere we were seeking. The intense contrast adds depth, while the subtle matt finish introduces contemporary and refined elegance to the space.”
A continuous veining pattern throughout the room
To create the perfect effect, the professionals seamlessly integrated the different slabs, ensuring the design was not overwhelming. They created a continuous and enveloping pattern in the room, making the veining design consistent throughout. The meticulous planning and craftsmanship reflected in the result highlight Not Just Granite's expertise in working with Silestone.
“We are particularly proud of the cladding around the window frame and the shower details, where we incorporated subtle and clean lines that enhance the material's drama. The final result is a cohesive and truly bespoke ensemble, where every detail has been designed to balance character and sophistication,” summarise the company.
Easy installation and maintenance with Silestone
To achieve this level of meticulousness, the material had to be sufficiently workable, something the professionals particularly value. “It is a very pleasant surface to work with: precise, homogeneous, and durable, which made fabrication and fitting smooth and hassle-free. Its strength and stability minimise the risk of chipping during handling, allowing for clean, defined edges and a flawless finish,” they recall about the installation.
In daily use, Silestone's easy maintenance has also proven to be another advantage: “The suede finish is not only aesthetically very appealing but also practical: it resists fingerprints and water marks and is easy to maintain. It is a surface that combines luxury and functionality, naturally responding to the demands of everyday life without losing its impactful and dramatic presence,” say Not Just Granite.
Silestone and Dekton for the kitchen and living room
The team appreciates the qualities of Cosentino materials so much that they also used them in the kitchen and living room. In the kitchen, a Silestone Ethereal Glow worktop covers the countertop and splashback, perfectly complementing the cream tone of the cabinets; in the living room, a Dekton Khalo slab on a slatted wood background draws attention to the television area.
“Our kitchen features Silestone Ethereal Glow as the true protagonist of the space. Its luminous veining in golden tones enhances the sense of light and spaciousness, naturally integrating with the cabinetry. In the living room, Dekton's natural pattern adds depth and sophistication, while the wood introduces warmth, turning the ensemble into a sculptural and striking element that balances elegance and functionality. It is a practical wall and a powerful visual feature,” say the team.
This combination of materials is one of the strengths of the house's design: “Combining surfaces, textures, and finishes not only adds visual interest but also helps to understand how each material can function differently throughout the home. You shouldn't be afraid to experiment with bold tones or statement pieces: they can elevate a project and take it out of the ordinary, creating personal, dynamic spaces full of character,” conclude Not Just Granite.
