The curvilinear walls of this ‘retreat’ blurs the lines between architecture and landscape while defining its public and private spaces

In spite of adverse conditions for building in this remote spot, the team of XRANGE drew inspiration from its natural beauty to create an architectural piece out of a single geometry that would convey a sense of calm and stability. In this house, the curve is interior and exterior at the same time: the cantilevers stretch on to the point of seeming to connect with nature.

The structure is formed by walls of concrete that can be moved independently on each of the three floors, but in accordance with the scheme dictated by the room layouts, views, and wind barriers, which are also built in wood. Small ‘errors’ of manual labor are what give the work a ‘low-resolution’ look.
