There are many elements that catch the eye in this spectacular Mediterranean-inspired display home in the heart of Australia. But undoubtedly, as the Allaro Homes Cairns team states, “the true centrepiece of this home is the stunning kitchen island crafted from Sensa Taj Mahal stone.”
With a gently curved corner, a waterfall edge, and a front clad in a continuous slab, the island serves as both a workspace and a sculptural element. Linear lighting beneath the benchtop highlights its curves and casts a warm glow that enhances the welcoming atmosphere at the heart of the home. The soft veining and warm tones of Sensa Taj Mahal perfectly embody the coastal Mediterranean style that defines this project.
The design is completed with the mosaic arch in the bar area, which echoes the curves and natural finishes to maintain visual continuity between the kitchen and living area. This coherence extends to the façade, where a curved concrete wall integrates the garage and arched entrances, and to the interior, with high ceilings, abundant natural light, and rounded windows and details that add softness and sophistication.
Impeccable quality and reputation
For the design team, Cosentino was an obvious choice: “Its quality is impeccable, and its reputation for innovation, design, and performance makes it a benchmark. In a display home that must set a standard, it was essential to work with reliable and consistent materials.” Sensa Taj Mahal was chosen for its timeless beauty and versatility, as well as its stain-resistant protection, which allows the enjoyment of natural stone without worrying about maintenance.
In the bathrooms, Dekton Sabbia sinks offer a sculptural and seamless alternative to conventional benchtops. Their smooth and textured finish adds a design touch while also making cleaning easier. “We didn’t want standard sinks; we wanted something we could admire every day. Dekton sinks are timeless, tactile, and elegant, effortlessly integrating with the rest of the finishes,” the homeowners comment.
The 322 m2 home also includes Sensa Taj Mahal benchtops in the second kitchen of the guest wing, the laundry, and the bar area. For Allaro Homes, the choice of Sensa and Dekton demonstrates their ability to adapt to different high-use areas without losing aesthetic coherence: “In a single project, we’ve been able to showcase how these materials work both in high-traffic areas and in display spaces.”
All advantages
“The greatest advantages of Sensa and Dekton for our home are their durability, beauty, and ease of maintenance. Sensa natural stone, with its stain-resistant protective technology, allows us to enjoy all the warmth and elegance of natural stone without worrying about spills or daily wear. It looks spectacular and withstands daily use.”
“The ultracompact Dekton surface offers incredible resistance and durability: it is highly resistant to heat, scratches, stains, and UV rays, making it perfect for bathrooms. Dekton sinks are not only elegant but also practical, making cleaning easier and providing a modern and uniform look. Together, these materials offer a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality, allowing us to enjoy a beautiful home designed to last and maintain an impeccable appearance with minimal hassle,” the homeowners conclude.
