Image number 32 of the current section of Cosentino Group reveals the winners of the competition for future professionals: Cosentino Design Challenge 2015 in Cosentino AustraliaThe Cosentino Group, world leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, is pleased to announce the jury’s verdict of the 9th edition of the international competition the Cosentino Design Challenge, in its two categories: architecture and design.

The Cosentino Design Challenge 2015, is a competition for design, architecture, interior design students or similar areas of knowledge anywhere in the world. It aims to foster the talent of students, promoting research into the different conceptual approaches to the layout of spaces, materials and the construction systems that define them, using materials made by the Cosentino Group.

 This year’s competition received a total of 278 applications (135 projects for the architecture category and 143 projects for the design category) increasing the participation by 31% when compared to last year’s edition. The applications received included students from the official partner schools of Cosentino Design Challenge, as well as from students from other design or architecture schools around the world, for example Togo, Russia or Bolivia.

The winners of the Architecture competition (awarded € 1,000 each), had to present an architecture proposal, totally open to the set topic ‘‘Playground: Fun with Surfaces – Umbrales de convivencia’’.

The winners of the Design prize (awarded € 1,000 each), who were asked to focus on “Cosentino and celebration”, giving careful consideration to the relationship between celebration, space, the observer and Cosentino materials, were:

The competition’s verdict took place on the 23 June in Granada’s (Spain) Cosentino Centre. The jury was composed of representatives from some schools and universities that collaborated in the competition: Ms. Endriana Audisho from the Australian University of Technology Sydney, Mr. Giacomo Bertolazzi from Istituto Europeo di Design, Mr. Francisco Teixeira Bastos from the Escola Técnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Lisboa, Mr. Ang Xiwei from Lasalle College of Arts, Ms. Isabel Plaza de la Escuela artediez Madrid, Mr. Raúl Fraga from Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid, Mr. Jorge Roa from Escuela de Arquitectura de Sevilla, Mr. Antonio Castilla from Escuela de Arte de Almería, Mr. Jorge Marín from Escuela Superior de Diseño de Alicante, Ms. Taciana Laredo, from Universidad de Zaragoza, Mr. Jaume Prat from Escuela Arquitectura Barcelona and Mr. Héctor García Diego from Escuela de Arquitectura of Universidad de Navarra.

The architect and designer, Daniel Germani was also invited to take part in this jury. Santiago Alfonso, Director of Communication and Marketing represented the Cosentino Group.

This meeting also discussed various proposals for the theme of the tenth edition of the Cosentino Design Challenge, to be presented later this year.
