This year’s DesignEx convention will see a number of innovative products introduced to the Australian public, including Cosentino Group’s most revolutionary product to-date; the ultracompact surface Dekton by Cosentino.
Located at stand 380 at DesignEx 2014, Cosentino will be giving visitors a sneak-peek at Dekton, the latest innovation from the company. Dekton is Cosentino’s greatest technological and commercial achievement to date, and reflects the company’s commitment to driving innovation in the design and architecture industry.
Gary Isherwood, Area Manager of Cosentino Australia, comments, “We’re excited to be able to give Australia a sneak-peek of Dekton at what is one of the most popular design conventions in the country. Globally, the Cosentino Group has invested a total of $172 million (AUD) and 22,000 hours of work into the production of Dekton, making it a gamechanger in the world of architecture and design, and we can’t wait for DesignEx to experience the most revolutionary product on the market.”
Dekton by Cosentino is an ultracompact surface that is unlike any other on the market, and the first suited to a multitude of applications, both indoor and outdoor. Manufactured with a mixture of sophisticated inorganic, raw materials found in glass, porcelain and natural quartz, making Dekton highlight resistant to scratching and abrasion. Furthermore, Dekton is resistant to UV rays, extreme temperatures, has very low water absorption, making it versatile and resilient.
Initially available in a range of nature-reflective colours and finishes and in large format, Dekton allows surfaces and spaces to be designed without any limits or interruptions, where colour and texture flow freely.
Made with TSP technology (Technology of Sintered Particles) and pressed with the world’s largest press (25,000 tonnes) for the ultracompact look and feel, Dekton uses a manufacturing process that uses an accelerated version of the high pressure and high temperatures processes that occur naturally over thousands of years to produce natural stone, condensed into just four hours.
Conducted over three days, DesignEx is Australia’s original design and architecture event. Taking place at the Sydney Exhibition Centre on Glebe Island, Cosentino will be showcasing their products at stand 380.
