The Cosentino Group conquers New York with its new Manhattan showroom

  • New York’s “Cosentino City” is the first showroom of its kind to be opened by the Spanish multinational in the USA, thereby increasing the consolidation of its already important presence in that country.
  • With a surface area of 375 m(4,000SF) and an investment of more than one million                    euros, the Manhattan city aspires to become the flagship for spaces of this type, in which Cosentino offers architects and designers an extensive range of materials to allow them to develop all types of projects.

The Cosentino Group, a global Spanish firm and leader in the production and distribution of new worktops for the architecture and design sector, officially opened its new “Cosentino City” in New York. Located in Manhattan, this is the first showroom of this kind that has been opened by the multinational in the USA, thus consolidating its already important presence in that country.

With a total investment of 1,150,000 euros (1,300,000US$) and a surface area of 375 sq. m. (4,000 sq. ft.), the Manhattan City is located in the well-known A&D building, New York’s most important design centre, which houses leading decoration and luxury firms present in the city. The City will offer architects and designers ample exhibition and work space, including full kitchen and bathroom areas, product displays and access to advanced viewing and design programmes with the latest technology, to assist professionals from the sector in developing all types of projects.

This responds to the “Cosentino City” concept which the firm is implementing in different cities all over the world. A new concept of space that aims to capture visitors’ attention by means of sensory experience and full customer support services provided by Cosentino’s expert staff. Visitors can interact with the different materials offered by Cosentino, and create, view and develop their projects in digital format, using the computer solutions available in the showroom.

The first “Cosentino City” was opened in Sydney (Australia) in September 2013, and in November 2014 a second one was opened in Singapore. Also in Asia, the company has an Associated City in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Furthermore, in October of this year, a new showroom with these characteristics will be opened in Milan.

The opening ceremony was attended by professionals from the influential community of architects, designers and interior designers of the Big Apple, among them Randy Fisher, president of the American Society of Interior Designers, and the designers Christophe Kennedy and Daniel Germany. The Cosentino Group’s Sales Director and CEO of Cosentino North America, Eduardo Martinez-Cosentino Alfonso and the multinational’s Marketing & Communication Director Santiago Alfonso hosted the opening.

During the ceremony, Eduardo Martínez-Cosentino Alfonso said “The opening of the Cosentino City showroom in Manhattan is yet another example of our strategy for strengthening our position as a leader in the US building and decorative surfaces market. We hope this New York space will become the flagship City showroom for Cosentino all over the world, and a meeting place for our customers and professionals from the sector in New York”.

In addition, during the day of the opening, more than 300 design, architecture and kitchen retail professionals, as well as media representatives visited the new showroom.

This new showroom is proof of Cosentino’s faith in the USA, where the firm set up its first foreign subsidiary in 1997. Since then, Cosentino has continued to grow and now has 27 Operating Centers in different parts of the country, two distribution hubs, 12 kitchen and bathroom surface production centers and agreements with 8 wholesale distributors such as Home Depot or Lowe’s, among others.

All the above has allowed Cosentino to consolidate its leadership in the US market, which today accounts for over 57% of the Group’s consolidated sales, and where it now has almost 1,000 employees.
