The beautiful and delicious signature sweets of Oosterbrood could only have a setting to match: the one designed by Reverence Interiors for them. It is an environment of light neutrals, wabi-sabi essence, sinuous shapes, and golden details that elevate the overall tone of a space designed for sensory delight and pleasure.
Located in the revitalised port district of Ostend, the space, which features a cosy café area, has become a favourite in this trendy new area. “The counter is the focal point, with a minimalist and refined design thanks to bespoke craftsmanship and high-quality materials,” the studio explains.
Dekton Albarium: stucco effect, maximum performance
The counter is topped with Dekton Albarium, a bone tone applied in strokes, giving it the appearance of Roman stucco. This visual format, which offers movement and depth to the delicate composition, is the perfect complement to the walls, which, through the technique of adding sand to the paint, create a brilliant stucco effect, adding texture and subtle colour variations to the space.
Unlike the walls, however, Dekton offers maximum resistance to daily wear and tear. It does not scratch with kitchen utensils or the friction of plates and glasses, and it never stains - a simple wipe with a damp cloth restores its immaculate appearance. Additionally, metal trays straight from the oven or ice cream tubs fresh from the freezer can be placed on it without causing any alteration to the material.
“A standout element of the design is the choice of Dekton Albarium for the worktop and counter. This ultra-compact surface, with its soft silver-grey tone and natural texture, integrates perfectly with the serene and tone-on-tone colour palette of the shop. Beyond its aesthetics, Dekton is also highly functional: it resists scratches and heat and is low maintenance, making it ideal for a busy bakery environment,” explain Reverence Interiors.
A meticulously designed space
Dekton is just one of the many careful choices made in this patisserie, where every detail has been meticulously considered. For instance, the acoustic experience has also been enhanced thanks to the sprayed plaster on the ceiling, which, due to its properties, insulates from the outside and dampens the sound generated within the shop.
The result of Reverence Interiors' craftsmanship is an establishment that has won the hearts of locals and tourists alike, while also being functional and comfortable for those who work there.
