The best solutions for bespoke vanity units

Bespoke vanity units allow you to fully customise such an important room in any home: the bathroom. Every day, you use this bathroom unit for your hygiene and self-care routines and it is essential that it suits your style and that it is also sturdy and functional.

In the case of the master bathroom, the unit should be spacious, easy to maintain and have enough storage space to keep everything tidy and in place. There is nothing more chaotic than a messy vanity unit with stuff scattered all over the countertop.

In this article, we tell you about the best solutions for designing your bespoke vanity unit using our Dekton and Silestone surfaces.

Design your bespoke vanity unit with C·Bath

At Cosentino we offer you a comprehensive solution to revolutionise your bathroom: C·Bath, a programme with a wide range of designer washbasins, made with our Dekton and Silestone surfaces.

When designing your bespoke vanity unit, the washbasin is one of the features you should pay the most attention to. Spectacularly designed washbasins are no longer a purely functional piece but a trend that elevates the feeling of luxury in the bathroom.

Depending on the space available and the style you desire for your bathroom, you can choose between different types of washbasins:

  • Wall-mounted washbasins: they are lightweight and modern, give a feeling of spaciousness and are very suitable for guest bathrooms with limited space. In C·Bath, Cosentino’s bathroom programme, there are many different designs made with Dekton and Silestone that fit into any space.
  • Freestanding washbasins: they can be a real work of art in your bathroom. They are available in sculptural shapes as well as in natural stone and marble. You can also opt for our HLine Urban washbasin on a pedestal designed with Silestone or Dekton.
  • Under-countertop washbasins: they are fully integrated with the countertop, remaining underneath it, so that only the countertop, and not the washbasin itself, takes centre stage.  We recommend that you design your under-countertop washbasin with a Dekton or Silestone countertop to create a unique, modern and functional piece.
  • Countertop washbasins: they rest on the countertop and often feature eye-catching shapes made from natural stone, porcelain or other materials. High spout taps are recommended for this type of washbasin to make it more comfortable to use. In this case, it is important to choose a sturdy, low-maintenance countertop that will not be damaged by soap and water.
  • Built-in washbasins: the washbasin and countertop form a single piece of the same material, resulting in elegant and highly functional pieces. For this type of washbasin we recommend our ultra-compact Dekton surface, ideal for contact with water thanks to its low porosity.

Types of bespoke bathroom vanity units

Through our The Bathelier project, we have collaborated with five internationally renowned designers who have created unique bathroom units using Cosentino surfaces.

Bathroom vanity units inspired by natural stone

Daniel Germani combined TK06 Marmorio, a colour inspired by Travertine stone, with a dark wood vanity unit with spacious drawers. The contrast between the wood grain and the Travertine veins brings a lot of texture and naturalness to the bathroom.

Dekton-clad washbasin in combination with wooden drawers

This spectacular design, also by Daniel Germani, uses another colour from the Pietra Kode collection: GK07 Ceppo. In this case, the vanity unit is built-in and features a Dekton cladding and two drawers to keep personal items out of sight.

A bathroom island with two basins

Remy Meijers’ proposal features a Dekton Laurent double basin island as the focal point of the space. For storage space, the designer opted for large wooden drawers.

Large washbasin with curved lines and vanity unit in grooved wood

The trend for curves also extends to the bathroom with this design by Claudia Afshar, a double washbasin with integrated countertop in Dekton Nacre, a colour from the Kraftizen collection. For the vanity unit, the designer chose grooved wood to add texture and richness to the design.

A sculptural washbasin entirely clad in stone

Washbasins are getting more and more spectacular, becoming focal points of design, like this pedestal washbasin designed by Colin Seah.

Minimalist washbasin integrated into the wall

In this design by the MUT Design studio, the washbasin and the wall merge into one. The use of Dekton Nacre, from the Kraftizen collection, integrates them with the rest of the room and achieves a spectacular sense of continuity.

Bespoke vanity unit with Dekton cladding

We suggest a very functional solution to give a uniform and minimalist look to your bathroom: use Dekton Slim to clad the vanity unit and choose the same colour for the floor, wall and countertop. Not only will you get an exquisite total look, but also the maintenance of your bathroom will be much easier thanks to Dekton’s low porosity.

Silestone and Dekton offer low maintenance and easy to clean surfaces. Both have very low porosity, making them resistant to limescale and soap stains and can be cleaned with a damp cloth and neutral soap.
