The Vietnamese firm T.ai design studio is known for designing elegant, modern and sophisticated projects that combine contemporary trends with subtle touches of local culture. In one of their latest projects in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), they have translated these influences into meticulous surface work, imagining new and creative ways to work with Dekton.
This can be seen, for example, in the bathroom, where the floor features an artistic composition combining Dekton Laurent, with a dark background and golden veins, and Dekton Marina, which reinterprets the classic elegance of Carrara marble. The shower walls are also clad with the former colour, while other bathroom walls feature Dekton Helena, with white and grey tones and fine crackled patterns.
Meticulously crafted bespoke pieces
“In the bathroom, the flooring stands out for its artistic composition made with contrasting Dekton slabs, creating a modern layout with great visual impact. As a complement, a freestanding monolithic Dekton washbasin and a bespoke Dekton toothbrush holder showcase exceptional craftsmanship and strong material coherence. Together, these elements form a luxurious and continuous space, becoming one of the defining aesthetic highlights of the entire project,” the studio explains. Both the bespoke washbasin and toothbrush holder demonstrate the versatility and artistic possibilities of Dekton, as well as the meticulous work of Eurostone.
In the other bathrooms, Cosentino surfaces have also been used, albeit in different colours: Dekton Aura and Dekton Kelya feature on worktops, floors and walls, while Dekton Marina has been used again to clad another wall.
“The architect has prioritised and chosen Cosentino materials for their perfect balance between aesthetics, durability and design versatility. Dekton is an ultracompact surface with a luxurious appearance and outstanding technical performance: resistance to heat, scratches, moisture and stains, making it an ideal choice for both decorative elements and functional areas with intensive use. Its wide colour palette and veining allow for a coherent and continuous design language throughout the project. And the large-format slabs, with minimal joints, enable refined applications such as bathroom wall cladding and monolithic washbasins,” summarises T.ai design studio.
Dekton also in the kitchen
With the team's confidence in Dekton, it is no surprise that they have also chosen it for the kitchen. In this case, the selected material is Dekton Daze, which recreates the structure of Calacatta marble with thick veins in gradients of light and dark greys combined with a subtle touch of gold. Its matt finish decorates the worktop and splashback.
“Thanks to its durability and exceptional performance, Dekton is an ideal choice for areas exposed to moisture, such as bathrooms and kitchens, where materials must withstand demanding conditions and prolonged use. Additionally, Dekton's colour stability and the durability of its veining ensure a lasting aesthetic without the need for complex maintenance. These superior qualities provide peace of mind in everyday use and a refined visual impact, enhancing the overall quality and sophistication of the space,” concludes T.ai design studio.
