Picturing the Ideal Kitchen Design

Previously confined to a small apartment with tiny cooking space, Marina dreamt of a more comfortable and welcoming kitchen. She needed it to be ergonomic, and she pictured a design that made her feel as if she was outdoors and connected to nature.

Fortunately, their house had the perfect location for this purpose. The star couple’s home sits inside a pristine forest of spruce and birch trees, thus it was paramount for them to create a Zen-like design that would strengthen their connection with the nature encompassing their home.

Reflecting on it now, Marina believes it’s one of the best decisions they ever made. Being able to see the forest through the kitchen windows while cooking, surrounded by a Zen and tranquil design, further enhances the feeling of being one with nature.

As someone who’s spent numerous hours designing her new home and looking for the most suitable materials, here’s what Marina’s number one advice is, “Choose great materials!” Aside from looking sleek, materials should also be highly durable, functional, and comfortable After all, it’s not all about looks. You can find numerous materials on the market that look beautiful but aren’t very reliable in the longer term.

You’d want solutions that are easy to clean and maintain and are made to withstand the test of time. Cosentino’s innovative Dekton slabs have incredibly high scratching, stain, heat, abrasion, and UV resistance. On top of that, they provide a 25-year warranty on all its surfaces.

Marina and Lou-Pascal’s design journey doesn’t end here! In part two of the series, they will let us know more about the inspiration and design behind their new luxury bathroom.
