Trio gains insight on Cosentino’s R & D
Cosentino recently hosted Canadian interior designer Yvonne Littlewood from the Vancouver office of global firm Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning, and Lead Interior Designer, Joy Chao and Principal Architect, John Henshaw of Vancouver-based John Henshaw Architect Inc. on a trip to experience the behind-the-scenes of Cosentino’s global headquarters in Almeria, Spain.
Yvonne Littlewood was most impressed with Cosentino’s Research and Development Team. “Seeing the experiment room for possible future designs was inspiring and I hope I can one day specify those designs,” she explained when asked about some of the highlights from her trip.
Joy Chao and John Henshaw were equally inspired by Cosentino’s constant ambition to keep up with the latest in surface technology. “We were very impressed by Cosentino’s drive to constantly update their technology to be sure to stand in the frontline and keep up with times,” said Joy.
The development of new products is an intricate process and requires a significant dedication of time and resources.
Cosentino has 7 production factories, 14 natural stone quarries and 15 processing centres located across the world, but Almeria is the heart of Cosentino’s operation. In this industrial park, the Cosentino Group oversees its worldwide logistics and distribution and is home to their main production centres for Silestone, Eco, and Dekton Ultracompact Surfaces. Designers and architects who visit the facility gain appreciation for the scope of manufacturing and commitment to product development.
