Cosentino Design Challenge 15 Now Open to Canadian Students
News, Top Projects
November 16, 2020
Cosentino has launched 15th edition of the international Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC). The competition once again challenges architecture and design students from all over the world to research and create. Students have until June 1, 2021, to submit their projects in digital format via the competition website.
Composed of two categories, the Architecture brief asks students to reflect on “Kitchens with soul – new visions for everyday spaces”, and the Design brief is centred on “Cosentino material and sensations”. In both categories, the participants have complete freedom in developing their final project, which must include a product manufactured by Cosentino including Silestone® natural quartz surface, Dekton® ultracompact surface and/or Sensa® protected granite surface.
Cosentino continues to be a lead the way when it comes to the education and experience of the next generation of architects and designers. The CDC is an initiative in line with Cosentino’s commitment to the talent and creativity of these future professionals. The competition offers a unique and prestigious opportunity that connects students with the materials and products of a leading company that they will eventually use in their future work projects after graduation. The support and collaboration of 32 international schools and universities, as well as the growing number of past project submissions, are proof of the importance of the CDC.
The official launch presentation of the competition recently took place through an online event, which can be now viewed on Cosentino’s channel on YouTube, featuring Santiago Alfonso, Vice President of Communication and Marketing of Cosentino Group, Adelina Salinas, President of the CDC, and Ricardo Santonja, professor and collaborator of the CDC since its beginning. The event also announced the winners of the previous edition – CDC14.
