Cosentino Group sponsors ‘Made in Spain’ international lecture series in Montreal & Toronto

This year, Cosentino is sponsoring the sixth edition of the Made in Spain lecture series, organized by the Foundation for Contemporary Architecture. As part of the series, lectures will be presented in Canada for the first time ever, with one in Montreal at the McGill University School of Architecture on September 25 and one in Toronto at the Design Exchange on September 28.

Cosentino is proud to support the Made in Spain initiative which is aimed at introducing noteworthy Spanish architects to some of Canada’s largest metropolitan cities. The series will feature two lectures given by outstanding Spanish professionals in the architecture discipline.

Carmen Pigem, one of the principal founders of the Pritzker prize-winning Catalonian architectural firm RCR Arquitectes, will host this week’s first lecture in Montreal alongside panellists Alain Carle, architect, lecturer and researcher at McGill University School of Architecture and Laura Domínguez Hernández, founder of Arquitectos Hombre de Piedra. The Hombre de Piedra architecture firm is a member of the board of trustees for the Foundation for Contemporary Architecture. The firm is located in Seville, Spain.

On Friday, the second lecture at the Design Exchange – Canada’s Design Museum – will feature María González and Juanjo López de la Cruz, founders of Sol 89 estudio dearquitectura located in Seville, Spain, as well as Aránzazu González and Michael Norman, co-founders of ODAMI, a multidisciplinary design studio located in Toronto.
