The Cosentino Group, the world’s leading company in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of architecture and design, announces their partnership with DDN, a historic name in the international editorial scene and the promoter of the innovative design project INHABITS, which will come to life during the 2018 Milan Design Week.

"

Cosentino will be a part of this initiative, which design studio – Progetto CMR will present an actual smart square, dedicated to the living spaces of the future. The exhibition location will be in the Piazza Castello, one of Milan’s most iconic spaces. The space will become an open-air model that will occupy more than 100,000 sq. ft. from the Castillo Sforzesco to Parco Sempione, the green heart of Lombardy’s capital.

"

Founded in 1994, Progetto CMR was born from the meeting of three professionals whose main goal was to provide flexible, efficient and sustainable design. Today, under the leadership of architect Massimo Roj, Progetto CMR continues to grow with over 150 employees. The collaboration of the Cosentino Group and Progetto CMR has become an extraordinary integrated design event that occupies 3,000 sq. ft. of the Piazza Castello.

For the occasion, the floor surface will be covered with Cosentino’s ultracompact surface Dekton®, which will demonstrate its extraordinary technical and aesthetic properties.  Dekton®’s Radium, the surface chosen for this project, is made of up to 80% recycled materials from Dekton’s own production process. It is part of the Dekton Industrial Collection, an innovative series of colours with an urban, environmentally conscious spirit. Cosentino’s colour choice shows that the Spanish company is aligned with the architectural context, as this surface reproduces the effect of a rusted, acid-worn steel plate, an aesthetic that combines the warm expression of orange and brown tones with greenish-blue hues.

" "

Cosentino Group’s philosophy, which has always imagined and anticipated design solutions able to bring value and inspiration to people’s lives, is a perfect match for the DDN INHABITS PROJECT, which aims to be one of the most innovative proposals for the living space industry. In fact, the goal of the initiative is to present a vision of the future from the point of view of technology, solutions and research projects, encouraging interaction with architects and companies who share these values. The exhibition will take Fuorisalone visitors on a journey to discover a city of innovative design, full of multi-functional spaces and areas with different themes, all with the common goal of adaptable design and respect for the environment.
