Our Top Moments of 2017

With 2018 just around the corner, we were inspired to reflect on the past year and all the milestone Cosentino events and initiatives. From winning the Best Booth Award at the Interior Design Show in Toronto to opening our newest Cosentino City Showroom in Montreal, we’ve rounded up some of our top highlights from 2017.

Cindy Crawford in the Silestone ‘Tops on Top’ Advertising Campaign
While flipping through your favourite design magazines, you may have noticed Cosentino advertisements featuring world-famous supermodel, Cindy Crawford. Crawford joined Silestone as the brand’s new ambassador, representing the very best in beauty, fashion and design in a campaign released in March entitled “Tops on Top”. Cindy has done an exceptional job as a brand ambassador this year and we are looking forward to working with her in the future.

Interior Design Show Toronto and Vancouver
Cosentino started the year off by celebrating with a landmark win at one of the most important design conferences in North America, the Interior Design Show held in Toronto this past January. Our booth, designed by internationally acclaimed Canadian design firm Cecconi Simone, claimed first place in the Best Booth Awards in the 601-sq. ft. and above category. Cosentino also exhibited at the Interior Design Show in Vancouver this past September. The booth intrigued visitors with a display of innovation and beauty, showcased through Dekton and Silestone.

The launch of the new Montreal City Centre Showroom
Recognizing the importance of the Canadian market, Cosentino opened a 3,920 square foot City Centre showroom in the heart of old Montreal in May. The showroom features an interactive kitchen display, a state-of-the-art LED sample viewing program and technologically-advanced workspaces that allow trade professionals to develop projects directly at the Centre.

Global Kitchen Study Presentations in Montreal and Toronto
Cosentino presented the Global Kitchen Study, an extensive international report examining the main design and usage trends for the home kitchen of the future, in Montreal and Toronto. Conducted by the Silestone Institute, the report featured renowned architects, interior designers, professors and international celebrity chefs, offering their expertise and insights into the effect of globalization in the kitchen and identifying how this home space will evolve over the next 25 years.

Both presentations held engaging Q&A panels featuring industry leading designers including Patricia Moore and Sandra Gordon. In Montreal, Chef Jean-Louis Themis and in Toronto, Chef Grant Van Gamaren shared their culinary insights on how they see the kitchen of the future taking shape.

For the second consecutive year, Cosentino was one of the Presenting Sponsors for the AZURE AZ Awards this past June. Known as one of Canada’s most highly regarded design events, the AZ Awards Gala recognized winners from over 40 countries in 20 different categories of interior design and architecture.

During the gala, Cosentino invited attendees to enjoy their interactive installation featuring an engaging photo-op. Guests had the opportunity to take photos with two live models painted to resemble colours from Silestone’s Eternal Collection in Eternal Marquina and Eternal Calacatta Gold. The installation was inspired by a video that was circulated globally for the launch of the collection.

World Design Summit in Montreal
The World Design Summit took place in Montreal in October. Cosentino joined the World Design Summit as the event’s official presenting partner for the Landscape Architecture discipline.
During the Congress portion of the event, an engaging industry keynote was given by designer and architect Daniel Germani, titled: ‘The Changing Perception of Beauty: Materials that Reinterpret Standards’. The presentation showcased the Dekton brand and how the innovative surface material is changing the way the world views surface design.

The ultracompact surface was also presented at the Expo portion of the 10-day event, with a beautiful Dekton Trilium outdoor BBQ designed by local outdoor kitchen maker Station Grill.

During this time, Daniel Germani, collaborator of Dekton’s new Industrial Collection also introduced the new Dekton colours to the Canadian market during a launch event held at the Montreal City Showroom.
