This year’s Princess Margaret Lottery Showhome is one of the most impressive and elegant grand prize homes yet. The luxurious 7,500 square foot home is located in south east Oakville, Ontario, just 30 minutes from downtown Toronto. It boasts 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and was designed for ultimate home entertaining. The home includes a spacious chef’s kitchen, a bright two-storey great room, a study, a dramatic staircase, and a lower level complete with a fitness centre, and a home theatre.

Renowned interior designer Brian Gluckstein, of Gluckstein Design Planning Inc., designed the luxury home, drawing inspiration from the Art Deco period. From the minute you walk through the front door, you are greeted with incredible aesthetics, thoughtful details and carefully designed spaces.

The foyer entrance features an intricate classical Italian floor pattern that was designed using Dekton’s Sterling and Vegha with 12 mm of thickness. Dekton was used throughout the home as flooring in several spaces, including a section of the kitchen, the powder room, mudroom, the principal ensuite bathroom, the laundry room, and the master staircase.

A scraped oak wood floor leads into the kitchen where you’ll find an island that features a reverse bevel countertop using Dekton Sterling 2cm thick, a colour that closely resembles natural travertine marble. This was also used to clad the island’s cabinetry doors and appliances in 8mm. The stone continues down to the flooring where the countertop is recessed for seating, adding a sculptural element to the space. Silestone in Yukon Blanco 2cm was used for perimeter countertop and backsplash giving the space a modern and clean feel.

The kitchen also features a double-sided fireplace cladded using a high-gloss Dekton Glacier 12mm. On the reverse side, the fireplace in the two-storey family room was cladded using Dekton’s Fossil 2cm.

Both Dekton and Silestone were used throughout the home’s 4.5 bathrooms as countertops, but also as shower inlays.

The master ensuite in particular has jaw-dropping design with carefully crafted floors in an exquisite pattern using Dekton Entzo, Danae, and Kovik in 12mm. Entzo was also used to clad the water closet as well as the bathroom’s countertops.
