From the moment you walk through the front door of the 2020 Princess Margaret Lottery Showhome, you are greeted with a stylish aesthetic, thoughtful details and carefully curated spaces designed by Brian Gluckstein of Gluckstein Design Planning Inc. One of the most notable elements of the home is the beautiful flooring, where Dekton is featured in several spaces including the kitchen, powder room, mudroom, principal ensuite bathroom, laundry room, and the master staircase.

Dekton is an ideal option for flooring as it is scratch, stain, and abrasion-resistant, making it perfect for high-traffic areas. While other surfaces show wear over time, Dekton’s finish will last for the life of the product and never needs to be resurfaced or refinished.

Starting at the front of the home, the entrance foyer makes a grand impact with an intricate classic Italian floor pattern using Dekton’s Sterling and Vegha with a 12mm thickness. This thoughtful detail is Gluckstein’s initial nod to the home’s 1920s art deco style, welcoming guests with beautiful geometric shapes that can also be seen in other areas throughout the home.

Moving across the foyer, Brian chose Dekton as the surface for the home’s master stairwell. A perfect solution for covering stairs, Dekton in Sterling was applied in 12mm, guiding guests to the main floor upstairs or downstairs to the lower level.

There is no lack of luxury in this home, including the bathroom and kitchen spaces where Brian again included Dekton as the flooring surface. In the master ensuite, the designer featured an exquisite pattern using cut pieces of Dekton Entzo, Danae, and Kovik in 12mm.

The main floor powder room highlights a combination of Sterling and Vegha in 12mm in another unique, art deco design.

Rounding out the home’s flooring applications is the kitchen which showcases an impressive island topped and cladded with Dekton in Sterling 2cm. The stone continues down to the flooring where the countertop is recessed for seating, adding a sculptural element to the space.

Flooring is literally the foundation of any space and the Gluckstein team made sure that they chose Dekton, providing not only a beautiful design but also long-term durability. Available in over 36 colour options, Dekton comes in a variety of beautiful solid and high-gloss colours including finishes that mimic natural stone, wood, oxidized steel and metal, and textured concrete. The design possibilities are endless, and the extensive flooring throughout the 2020 Princess Margaret Lottery Showhome is a true testament to that.
