Cosentino is delighted to have increased its presence in the Scandinavian market with the official opening of its new Cosentino Centre in Helsinki, Finland in August 2017. This comprehensive logistics facility, located in the Finnish capital, completes the multinational’s extraordinary presence in the region, where it already has Centres in Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

The new Centre will cover distribution services in the Nordic country, and will also provide services to the Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Representing a total investment of €850,000, it provides storage for some 5,000 slabs with a total surface area of 2,000m2.  Cosentino’s operations in Finland are being kick-started with a team of 11 employees, some of which will also be dedicated to providing services to the Baltic countries.

Cosentino launched in Sweden for the first time in 2006, in the region of Northern Europe, to open the Cosentino Göteborg Centre, which offered regular Cosentino product services to the Scandinavian countries. In 2013, the company opened its second distribution Centre in the city of Oslo, Norway, thus covering demand in that country, as well as providing services to Iceland. At the end of 2016, the town of Hedensted in Denmark welcomed the company’s third Centre in Scandinavia.

Pierre Wernlundh, Cosentino’s managing director for Scandinavia says, “In Cosentino we have a firm commitment to Scandinavia, offering the best service and distribution network of the industry in this region with four Centres, more than 50 employees and nine trucks to supply and service our clients efficiently. In 2017 we expect to reach more than €20 million sales in Scandinavia, a number that will increase in the coming years.

Combining the opening of the Centres in Finland and Denmark, Cosentino has invested almost €3 million in the region in little over a year, demonstrating the multinational’s commitment to Scandinavia and to maintaining its active policy of geographical diversification and control of its own distribution, consolidating itself as one of the most internationally widespread Spanish companies.
