The Mutua Madrid Open 2019 began on Friday 3 May with the ultracompact surface, Dekton by Cosentino, as one of its main sponsors. Different Dekton colours were used to decorate areas within the Caja Mágica arena. In addition, the Manolo Santana centre court showed the brand on its main signs.

The #GraciasFerru initiative at the Mutua Madrid Open was a tribute to the Spanish tennis player, David Ferrer, who brought his career to a close at this tournament. Top players such as Rafael Nadal, Feliciano López, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, Kei Nishikori and Juan Martín del Potro, as well as tennis legends, such as Manolo Santana, Conchita Martínez and Alberto Berasategui, dedicated a few moving words to him on a table tennis table made from Dekton and on the new 4mm thin Dekton Slim surface. Located in the players’ area, the world’s top tennis players enjoyed some rallies on the table.

The Dekton and Cosentino VIP zone also welcomed Petra Kvitová, playing in this WTA Premier Mandatory event, and currently 3rd in the world rankings. After having her photograph taken with company employees, Kvitová signed a Dekton surface and learnt about the outstanding features of the surfaces that Cosentino creates for the world of architecture and design.

Dekton at the Mutua Madrid Open

Dekton added beauty, elegance and durability to the arena. The two access areas to the Caja Mágica boasted a variety of stands using Dekton’s shiny Spectra colour. The entrance to the VIP dining area, with its stunning views of the lake, was decked out with stands and walls clad in the Dekton Bergen from the Stonika collection. The exclusive Sky Lounge on the top floor of the building, which enjoys stunning panoramic views over Manolo Santana centre court, had several Dekton Keon bar tops.

The Dekton and Cosentino private lounge was a real showroom for the brand. The bar area had a bar top made in Dekton Entzo and Kelya. A show-cooking countertop in the Dekton Kreta industrial colour was paired with matching 4mm Slim cladding. A range of side tables were also created using Dekton Bergen. Lastly, the walls in the reception featured six tons of cladding from the new Dekton Stonika series. Over 500 Cosentino customers, stakeholders and friends enjoyed this area during the tournament.

Silestone at the Mutua Madrid Open

Cosentino’s quartz surface, Silestone also had a strong presence at the Mutua Madrid Open through the #TopsOnTop initiative which took place in the sponsors zone next to the main entrance. Visitors who interacted with Silestone received a prize. A stand out feature was a stunning counter top made from the Eternal Calacatta Gold colour.

The Silestone Eternal collection was also the main focus in the exclusive, incredible VIP dining area, this year dedicated to the city of Madrid. Each dining area featured counter tops in different Silestone colours, and the centre of the outside terrace had a circular bar made with Silestone Eternal Marquina. Similarly, the Cosentino private lounge welcomed guests with a beautiful reception desk in the Eternal Statuario colour.

This strong presence of Cosentino products and image is a result of the renewed sponsorship agreement between the company and the Matua Madrid Open.
