Celebrating the best in residential and commercial design, Cosentino was last longlisted and went on to win a Gold award in 2020 with the innovative Dekton Liquid collection, designed in collaboration with PATTERNITY. This year, the Designer Awards judges were impressed with the first ever carbon neutral Silestone collection. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held at Grand Connaught Rooms, London on Friday 12th November 2021.
Silestone Sunlit Days comprises of five colours inspired by the Mediterranean, our connection with nature and most importantly, colour - the distinguishing feature that has made Silestone a distinctive leader in the world of quartz and engineered stone surfaces since its inception in 1990.
The collection explores a journey through light and colour, with a fresh style and aged Mediterranean tones which have been influenced by human values and simple, profound ways of living. Recycled content in the collection’s composition provides a worn look with depth and richness to each colour, which work well with a variety of interior styles. The five colours - Faro White, Cincel Grey, Arcilla Red, Cala Blue and Posidonia Green - represent unique stories, experiences and expressions and are a tribute to the way of life of real people who have found their true purpose by the Mediterranean.
Created with the exclusive and pioneering HybriQ+ technology by Silestone, this new production process is characterised by the company’s commitment to the environment, the circular economy and sustainable management. The manufacturing process of Silestone with HybriQ+ uses 99% reused water from the production processes, 100% renewable electric energy and a minimum of 20% recycled raw materials in its composition, alongside mineral raw materials. With this new composition, Silestone retains its timeless beauty, as well as its mechanical and technical performance, quality, hygiene certifications and 25-year warranty, providing peace of mind for residential and commercial projects alike.
Cosentino is also dedicated to offsetting the CO² emissions of the entire life cycle of the Silestone® Sunlit Days series. This has been achieved by Cosentino calculating its carbon footprint, reducing impact to the environment and offsetting its emissions by continually participating in voluntary offsetting projects which are duly certified and in the framework of the Voluntary Carbon Market. What's more, this initiative is complemented by a partnership program with Equilibrio Marino for the preservation of the seabed.
