Dekton® Chosen for ‘Smart Square’ in Partnership with INHABITS by DDN and Progetto CMR

Dekton® by Cosentino was the flooring material of choice for an innovative and immersive installation created by design studio Progetto CMR, led by architect Massimo Roj, in partnership with INHABITS, the exclusive exhibition organised by DDN dedicated to imagining the living spaces of the future during Milan Design Week. Located at the Piazza Castello, one of Milan’s most iconic spaces, more than 300m2 was transformed using Dekton® Radium, an industrial look ultra-compact surface made from up to 80% recycled materials. Open to visitors over the course of the week, benches placed around the square provided different elements for interaction, such as wi-fi hot spots and device charging, whilst a central light sculpture and flooring lights came to life when passers-by walked over the floor.

Dekton® and GandiaBlasco Outdoor Furniture Collection by Daniel Germani

Launched at Salone del Mobile, ‘Solanas’ is the collective work of renowned Argentinian architect Daniel Germani, Dekton® by Cosentino and Spanish brand GandiaBlasco. A collection of design-led modular outdoor furniture, ‘Solanas’ represents an homage to Solanas beach in Uruguay, where Daniel used to spend his summers as a child. Featuring softer forms with rounded edges, the pieces have been created with the desire to create intimate outdoor spaces. Crafted using highly weather-resistant materials including an aluminium structure, Dekton®’s ultra-compact surfaces were the obvious choice for use on the tables, ensuring beautiful aesthetics that did not compromise on practicality or longevity.
