Elephant & Spices is an Indonesian restaurant that combines the best of Southeast Asian cuisine with thoughtful and stylish interior design. For DSN Intervention, the Indonesian architecture firm in charge of the project, it was a great challenge to shape this project and, at the same time, ensure that all the requirements were met.
“The biggest challenge for us was the fact that the restaurant’s plates and cutlery are very heavy and of the highest quality. Therefore, it was necessary to have a strong table that would match the interior design but that could also be adapted to the business requirements”, says the studio.
Versatile and long lasting
To address this issue, the studio decided to turn to Cosentino, relying on the features, versatility and durability of Dekton. Specifically, the colours chosen for the project were Dekton Sirocco and Dekton Chromica Feroe, which were used for the table tops and the worktop. “For us, it was essential to have a wide variety to choose from, and we knew that Cosentino would give us the peace of mind that we were looking for.”
Dekton revolutionises the future of architecture and design by creating soulful spaces where beauty and functionality coexist in perfect balance. Its way of ‘decoding’ natural stone, deciphering its unique beauty and performance to recode and upgrade it through technology, is key for professionals who choose this surface.
Two colours, one need
Echoing the colour of the wildest natural stones, Dekton Sirocco is a great basic that will break the monotony. Thanks to the nuances of its finish, it is the perfect match for this restaurant, which is expected to have a long life and receive thousands of diners who will use its surface.
As for the Chromica collection, it emerged from a collaboration with architect and designer Daniel Germani with the aim of expanding the Dekton colour spectrum, incorporating new must-have shades in sophisticated, chameleon-like matt finishes. Thus, the green shade of Dekton Feroe allows for the creation of elegant, sophisticated and well-balanced projects, full of character, such as the Elephant & Spices restaurant.
