The revolutionary ultra-compact surface Dekton® by Cosentino has once again proven its desirability as a façade material with its specification on the M11 Business Campus building in Co. Wexford, Ireland.  The €5m development is part of a wider collection of three units, which is owned by Redmond Construction.  The first phase of the campus, the 35,000 square foot building, was officially opened in April 2018.  A significant addition to the business landscape in Wexford, Wexford County Council is the main tenant at the new hub, with additional micro-business units available.

The architect behind the development was Gorey based, Molloy Architect and Design with leading supplier of stone work surfaces for domestic and commercial projects, Stone Solutions the fabricator behind the Dekton® façade.  Attached using a rear undercut anchor system, the 180 square metres of Dekton® Danae in 12mm thickness perfectly complements the building’s surroundings and contemporary design.

Why Dekton® ?

Dekton® is ideal for large scale commercial projects such as this, as slabs can be manufactured in large format to custom sizes, which offers a greater level of precision for architects and designers.  It is perfectly suited for outdoor use thanks to its high resistance to UV rays, stains, thermal shock and colour stability, whilst its additional benefits include high resistance to scratches and heat plus low water porosity.  Dekton® has been specified for architecture and design projects throughout the world,  such as Archway Tower in London (UK), Le Meridian hotel in Yilan (Taiwan) and the Cap Ferrat building in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

With an established Centre in Fonthill Retail Park, Dublin, Cosentino is delighted to announce the opening of its second Irish Centre in late 2018, located at Nutt’s Corner, Belfast.  Testament to the company’s continued commitment to the region, the new Centre will have around 5,000 slabs in stock from its Silestone® quartz, Dekton® ultra-compact and Sensa by Cosentino® natural protected surfaces brands, offering a range of customers – from stone fabricators and designers to end users and architects – the chance to be inspired.
