Sustainability is more than just a word to us. Our mission is to inspire a sustainable lifestyle to enable people to live more sustainably by providing ethical and honest products that last a lifetime. We want to create the very best kitchens without jeopardising the wellbeing of future generations. Our goal is to ensure that our business practices respect environmental limits, avoid the depletion of resources, and recognise the interconnectedness of a healthy economy, society and the environment. The wellbeing of our planet depends on sustainable business practice. As a manufacturer, we recognise our responsibility to reduce the consumption of energy, water and raw materials, to minimise the loss of habitat and biodiversity, and to reduce waste and emissions. By manufacturing predominantly in-house with high-quality craftsmanship, we have greater control over the environmental impact of our production. We are able to monitor this impact closely by measuring our performance and selecting suppliers carefully. We are committed to promoting sustainable forestry. We ensure compliance with legal and social standards in our supply chains. Our wood comes from 100 % verified legal and controlled sources according to ISO 38200. We buy roundwood preferably from certified forests in the purchasing region. The key objectives of our sustainability policy are to: 1. Minimise our energy use and CO2 emissions 2. Protect our forests and the biodiversity they support 3. Generate minimum waste We also only work with partners who share the same commitment to sustainability as we do. To give an example, on this project we worked with the suppliers listed below and we highlight their outlook and vision when it comes to sustainability: - Cosentino - Cosentino has joined in the World Environment Day celebrations as one of Spain's most recognised companies for its substantial support of sustainability and the Circular Economy. Armac Martin - At Armac Martin, they recognise that they have a responsibility to protect and future proof our planet, and so they are pledging that by 2025, they will have reduced their emissions by 50%, with the goal of reaching net zero by 2041. Siemens Appliances - Siemens Home Appliances is fully committed to helping combat climate change by manufacturing long-lasting, energy-efficient appliances in a sustainable way. From design to development and manufacturing, everything they do is designed to minimise our environmental impact. Their factories, offices, warehouses, and R&D centers run increasingly on green energy, which is self-produced by their photovoltaic systems or sourced from sustainable energy suppliers. TALA Lighting - The company create high-quality, sustainable LED lights for homes, offices and every space in between. Lights people can be proud to switch on because they look great, lift the soul and are gentle on the planet. Quooker Taps - At Quooker they strive for sustainability in all fields. With people and protection of the planet at the forefront of their minds. In 2016, their premises were rebuilt and covered with 900 solar panels. This supplies ALL of their energy needs! In their Return and Recover departments, they recycle old products and manage their waste flows in a sustainable way, in compliance with the WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Act. In addition, a Quooker is easy to maintain which increases its longevity. Their taps typically last between fifteen and twenty years! #CosentinoWe and #WeAreCosentino
