The numerous unique benefits and commercial applications make Cosentino’s range of Dekton® and Silestone® surfaces the superlative choice for providing design solutions for and increasing number of professional kitchens and an increasing number of influential culinary establishments worldwide. Spanish restaurant TOPA Sulkaderia has added to this list by choosing to display Cosentino’s effective products throughout its premises.

Situated in the heart of the Gros District of San Sebastian, Spain, TOPA Sulkaderia highlights the deep history that unites the Basque and Latin American people and offers diners a cosy and upbeat environment. Inspired by the trips Andoni Luis Audriz and his team have made to various Latin American countries, the restaurant is the meeting point of two gastronomic traditions where flavours and history are shared in the common pursuit of enjoyment.

One of the priorities of this design was to harness the concept of an open kitchen, to allow customers and diners to see the chefs’ creative process first-hand. The Dekton® Aura worktops and counters connect the kitchen with the rest of the room in elegant harmony, boasting pure white clarity and distinctive veins. The safety and hygiene offered by Dekton® when handling food, as well as high tolerance for both heat and cold without suffering aesthetic or structural changes were key factors in the selection of Dekton® surfacing. In addition, Dekton® Kelya was chosen for the kitchen and stairway wall cladding. Inspired by natural stone, Kelya offers a dark contrast against the Aura surfaces and works with the use of wood throughout to create a rustic feel.

Silestone® Stellar Negro provides the perfect contrast to the white bathroom fixtures and the grey shades of the flooring, creating a sleek monochrome scheme. The scintillating gleam of the mirror shards which are incorporated into the slabs balances the light and the darkness in the room, and creates an unexpectedly bewitching visual effect.
