Dekton® To Equip the ‘Caja Mágica’ For the 2018 Mutua Madrid Open

- The global leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of architecture and design, the Cosentino Group, has renewed its contract to be one of the main sponsors of the Mutua Madrid Open 2018, the only Masters 1000 tournament to take place in Spain.
- Cosentino will supply both the ultra-compact surfaces Dekton® and its Silestone® quartz surfaces for different elements of design at the tournament’s location: Madrid’s ‘Caja Mágica’, which turns 10 in 2018.
The Mutua Madrid Open has confirmed that it will be renewing its sponsorship contract with Cosentino’s ultra-compact surface brand, Dekton® as the main sponsor of the 2018 tournament. The agreement to extend the deal was signed last week at the company’s spectacular City Centre showroom in Madrid.
The company, with headquarters in Almeria (Spain), was represented at the meeting by Executive Vice President of Global Sales of Cosentino Group and CEO of Cosentino North America, Eduardo Cosentino rdo tuvo lugar la semana pasada en el as well as Cosentino Group Vice President of Communications and Marketing, Santiago Alfonso. The tournament’s director, Manolo Santana and Mutua Madrid Open CEO, Gerard Tsobanian were also in attendance.
The sponsorship deal has special significance this year, as 2018 marks the tenth anniversary of the construction of the Caja Mágica or ‘Magic Box’, designed by the French architect Dominique Perrault, which has been home to the Madrid tournament since 2009. The Caja Mágica has been one of the capital’s most notable architectural features and is distinguished by its versatile and functional design.
During the 2018 Mutua Madrid Open, the installation – built primarily from steel, wood and glass – will boast the impressive features, designs, colours and finishes provided by Cosentino’s leading brands, Dekton® and Silestone®. This winning combination can also be seen in areas such as the Sky Lounge, Welcome Desk and VIP Lounge.

The 17th Mutua Madrid Open will kick off on 4 May 2018 with the return of many world tennis stars. Televised in 180 countries by 272 networks, the Open is expecting to break its attendance record of over 260,000 spectators.
