Spanish design with AJAR at this year’s Sydney Indesign

Spanish flair was on display at this year’s Sydney Indesign when we teamed up with AJAR to bring design inspiration – and innovation – in the form of a custom made pop-up house.

The collaboration with AJAR was a natural choice for us – we both have a passion for high-quality Spanish finishings and furniture. AJAR brings fine Spanish designs to the local interiors market through high-end furniture, joinery, lighting and homewares from celebrated brands such as BD Barcelona, Carmenes and Arlex.

Our installation at Sydney Indesign’s The Venue featured a house-shaped structure with our Dekton® surface applied to the floor and walls.  An ultra-compact surface made from raw materials used in the glass, porcelain and quartz surfaces production, Dekton® introduces a whole new world of possibilities for interior designers and renovators. It can mimic the appearance of materials such as marble, concrete or even oxidized steel while being scratch, stain and impact resistant. It also has a heat and UV stability, which means it can be used inside and out and its large format nature makes it ideal for floors, benchtops, splashbacks or even as cladding around fireplaces.

We supplied the high-quality surfaces for the Indesign installation in colours such as Entzo, Spectra, Keon and Trilium. AJAR dressed the surfaces with beautiful Spanish-designed furniture, including the Olvidada pendant from BD Barcelona, the DOMO sideboard from Arlex, the Masala sofa from La Mamba Studio and the Wallace sofa from Carmenes.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with AJAR on this carefully curated collection of Spanish inspirations.
