Cosentino demonstrated its leadership in the sector for another year through its presence at KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) 2018. A key event for the kitchen and bath sector, the show was held in Orlando, Florida, USA from 9 to 11 January.  In its fifth year, KBIS, organised by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and held alongside Design & Construction Week, hosted over 80,000 design and construction professionals from all over the world.

Cosentino’s presence at the show once again stood out, with visitors to the brand’s impressive 325 m2 booth able to enjoy the latest Dekton® and Silestone® surfaces, as well as unique projects and engaging demonstrations.

On display at the show was DeKauri, the latest collaboration between Cosentino, designer Daniel Germani and Italian furniture manufacturer Riva 1920. The ultracompact surface Dekton® forms part of the splendid DeKauri project which made its global debut at KBIS, winning Silver in the ‘Best of Bath’ category of the ‘Best of KBIS 2018’ awards.  DeKauri is a freestanding enclosed bathroom vanity that contains a basin made of Dekton® and features a frame made of ancient 50,000-year-old Kauri wood. DeKauri was inspired by the traditional Italian credenza, which brings beauty and functionality into the bathing space.

The outdoor kitchen ASA-D2, made with Dekton® by Cosentino, also received recognition at the fair. Mentioned by the prestigious American magazine Beautiful Kitchens & Baths in the publication’s annual ‘30 Most Innovative Products’ list, ASA-D2 is a modern free-standing outdoor kitchen. The piece was designed by Daniel Germani and developed by Cosentino in collaboration with Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens, the main producer of stainless-steel outdoor kitchens in the United States.

Also on display at the show was Cosentino’s recent Dekton® Industrial Collection, made up of four non-conformist colours with an urban style and environmentally conscious composition: Nilium, Radium, Orix and Trilium. Versatile and offering the numerous impressive technical qualities the ultra-compact surface brand is renowned for, the collection gained recognition and numerous prizes in 2017.

KBIS was also the global preview for the new colours that are set to expand the Silestone® Eternal  Collection, launching later this year. These five new shades – Eternal Bianco Calacatta, Eternal Calacatta Classic, Eternal Desert Silver, Eternal Emperador and Eternal Marfil – offer veining and reflections that extend over the entire surface of the slab, granting it a uniquely natural and beautiful look. Inspired by history’s most popular marbles, the Silestone® Eternal Collection is made with Cosentino’s patented and revolutionary Silestone® N-Boost technology, which modifies the surface of the material at a molecular level, improving its technical and aesthetic properties.

Spanish chef Sergio Pérez was on hand to give daily demonstrations on the brand’s stand of the resistance and durability of Dekton® by cooking delicious recipes directly on the material’s surface, delighting visitors. The Silestone® Trendspotters, the group of popular American designers and influencers who have worked with Cosentino for years to create new colours and trends for the American market, held an exclusive event at the company’s booth with Eduardo Cosentino, CEO of Cosentino North America and the group’s Executive Vice-President of Global Sales.

Cosentino also participated in two very important events at KBIS 2018. The company was one of the sponsors of the KBIS Bash, which was held during that week in the city of Orlando. Hand-in-hand with Daniel Germani, a Dekton® brand ambassador and partner, Cosentino took part in the Designer Discussion Forum, organised by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

Cosentino products were available to visitors to admire on the stands of other market leaders at the fair, including Wellborn, Ideal Cabinetry, Brown Jordan, Procraft Cabinetry, Gary Tan, Franke and Liebherr.
