“The clients’ brief was for something extraordinary, while still being modern and on trend”, explains Lisa Bowmast of Matakana Kitchens and Joinery. “They wanted a mixture of colour and texture, dark and light, and this being their fourth property to renovate, they had a real vision in mind.”
The clients wanted their Omaha Beach home to feel like a holiday retreat, which was relaxing and modern yet still functional. They wanted their open-plan kitchen to be cohesive with the overall darker aesthetic of the living areas, while still offering a stylish space that suits day to day living as well as entertaining. Dekton® by Cosentino’s dramatic colour, Laurent, was selected for this epic kitchen and creates a stunning vocal point but still drawing from continuity by using multiplications e.g. benchtops, splash back and cladding the rangehood.
