Lindau is a kitchen studio in Schwyz (Switzerland) that combines traditional craftsmanship with “cutting-edge technologies that open up unlimited possibilities in execution.” In each of their bespoke projects, the team strives to achieve maximum beauty and minimal environmental impact. All of this makes the use of Dekton in their designs a natural choice for Lindau, as demonstrated in one of their latest projects, a kitchen full of personality.

Cosentino's ultra-compact surface is at the forefront of technology, offering extraordinary durability; it is also available in countless colours and is carbon neutral.

A welcoming and mineral palette

The kitchen designed by Lindau in this case, located in a spacious flat with large windows and wooden ceilings, features Dekton Ceppo on worktops and fronts. The colour, inspired by the characteristic multi-shaped grey-blue structure of the Italian stone Ceppo di Gré, convinced both the studio and the clients.

The clients explain: “The colour palette was chosen to create contrast without losing warmth or balance. The dark wood adds depth and a sense of comfort, while the mineral tones of Dekton Ceppo bring brightness and texture without feeling cold. Together, the materials create a timeless atmosphere that naturally integrates with the surrounding architecture and the variations of light throughout the day.”

Seamless surfaces for a clean aesthetic language

For the studio, the defining feature of the project is also the balance between strong material presence and visual restraint: “The combination of dark wood volumes with the expressive texture of Dekton Ceppo creates a clear architectural rhythm, where the kitchen island becomes a central element without dominating the space. Additionally, the continuity of materials across different surfaces enhances the sense of depth and reinforces the serene and cohesive character of the interior,” the team explains.

Since this continuity was important for the kitchen's appearance, large Dekton slabs were chosen, allowing for a clean and precise aesthetic language. “Dekton Ceppo allowed us to maintain a refined and architectural image for the project, while ensuring suitable performance for a contemporary kitchen,” Lindau states.

Maximum durability, minimal maintenance

When referring to Dekton's performance, the team highlights its resistance to heat, scratches, and stains, as well as its low maintenance requirements (a damp cloth is enough to clean it). “Additionally, the material retains its appearance over time, preserving the intended design quality despite constant use and exposure to light,” the studio adds.

The clients, who are ultimately the ones using the kitchen daily, also highlight these factors when choosing Cosentino's material: “The main advantage of Dekton in this space is its ability to combine visual impact with long-term performance. It allows the kitchen to function both as a workspace and as a central architectural feature, offering durability, ease of maintenance, and aesthetic coherence. This balance ensures the space remains practical and visually relevant over time,” they conclude.
