At Cosentino Singapore, we are proud to support the ‘OneMillionTrees’ greening movement as part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This initiative aligns with our core value of reducing our carbon footprint for a healthier planet. As part of our annual CSR efforts, we joined a nationwide effort with the Plant-A-Tree initiative by NParks, raising a total of SGD 15,913 for the Garden City Fund and planting 53 trees at Pasir Ris Park.

A big shout out and a huge THANK YOU goes to the 70 members of the Cosentino family and our industry partners who contributed and participated in restoring nature to our environment. We also extend our appreciation to the NParks team, who guided us throughout this meaningful journey. Together, with small acts like this, we are sowing the seeds of positive change for our planet.

An ongoing movement in Singapore, the OneMillionTrees’ movement was launched in 2020 with the aim of planting one million trees across Singapore by 2030 and  transform Singapore into a ‘City in Nature’. 713,791 trees have been planted, and we are proud to have added 53 more to that number during our tree-planting event that was held last week. In 10 years, the trees we planted are estimated to have a standing stock of 3.4 tonnes of carbon and carbon sequestration of 11.8 tonnes of CO2*. 

A Sense of Community

Did you know that trees are known to improve both air and water quality by absorbing pollutants? Without them providing shade, cover and the essential process of taking in carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, our lives would look very different. With global climate change wreaking havoc on our earth, trees are one of the solutions to help save us.  At Cosentino, sustainability and environmentalism are top priorities. Caring for our environment and in turn, caring for our future generations, is not just our duty - it's a commitment we hold dear.

*Note: The figures are based on the average tree species found locally. The carbon sequestration estimate is based on the projected girth of the tree assuming full life expectancy. Standing stock refers to the biomass (of the trees).
