Cosentino Singapore unveils Strata, an outdoor sculptural masterpiece featuring Dekton Pietra Kode, in collaboration with Singapore-based artist Eugene Kosgoron.
Strata: Connecting classicism with modernity
Strata shines a new light towards tradition, featuring classic Vicenza stone designs from Cosentino’s beloved Dekton Pietra Kode and working these materials in an unconventional way, highlighting the exceptional versatility of Dekton. Pietra Kode interprets and reimagines the beauty and character of the stones that Rome was built upon. For Strata, Kosgoron chose Nebbia and Grafite, two reimagined stones that adorned the villas and palaces of architect Andrea Palladio in the Cinquecento.
Sharing the concept behind Strata, the Indonesia-born artist Kosgoron says, “Drawing inspiration from Dekton Pietra Kode, Strata is all about the return to the classics and origins. The layers in Strata are a reflection on how sedimentary rock formations are built layer upon layer in nature over centuries to create the beauty of the stone we see today. Deconstructing these layers into individual layers as we see it in Strata reminds me of growth and metamorphosis, telling its truth and rich tales surrounding its journey in time.”
Kosgoron, together with architectural designer collaborator Michael Yeow Zhi Wei, put together a series of apertures that allows viewers to look at both the dynamic exterior surface and the interior core where light will pass through during the night.
Just as Pietra Kode follows in Vitruvius’ footsteps, Strata reimagines the prolific architect’s principles of meeting modern needs while staying true to its origins with its harmonious blend of contemporary and natural. A true art form, Strata successfully challenges the notion of the use of Dekton surfaces beyond architectural applications.

Designing with soul

“Cosentino couldn’t be prouder to team up with Eugene Kosgoron for Strata, an iconic art piece that is both breathtaking and tranquil. Strata has truly challenged how our surfaces can be brought to life beyond the interiors. We are extremely glad to be part of this project which saw various parties come together to celebrate art and create a masterpiece the public can enjoy,” says Patricia Lyon, Marketing Lead for Cosentino Southeast Asia.
