Celebrating the arrival of Dekton® Pietra Kode and Cosentino City Singapore’s first anniversary

Pasta, prosecco, gelato and beautiful live harp music – it was an electrifying evening at Cosentino City Singapore last Wednesday as we celebrated a double milestone: the showroom’s first anniversary and the arrival of Dekton® Pietra Kode with an Italian-themed soiree.

Since the opening at the award-winning Marina One development last year, Cosentino City Singapore has grown into a vibrant community hub for the built environment industry, hosting meetings, talks, and celebratory events in various scales throughout the year.

Launched globally in March, the carbon-neutral Dekton® Pietra Kode collection piqued the interest and curiosity of local industry friends, who have been eager to see and feel the new colours firsthand. Designed by Arizona-based Argentinian architect Daniel Germani, a long-time collaborator of Cosentino’s, the collection comprises seven colours inspired by the three most coveted classic Italian stones: Vicenza, Travertine, and Ceppo di Gré.

Displayed in large format at Cosentino City Singapore, the seven new colours – Nebbia, Avorio, Grigio, Grafite, Marmorio, Sabbia and Ceppo – are designed to suit our contemporary spaces and lifestyles.

“I am impressed how quick Cosentino responds to the needs of the market and designers for new material. The new travertine design is what we have been constantly looking for for the past year. A lot of time we have to go for natural stones due to the lack of options, and sometimes they might not be the best option for some applications,” commented Danielle Ma, founder of interior design studio Maer Atelier. “We are very happy with the new launch, now we have more options in the industry.”

“The new range, which features neutral and cool palettes, are awesome. It's easy to propose it for any surface, be it for bathroom wall and vanity, kitchen counter and backsplash, or even as feature wall and claddings in passageways,” said Kit, founder of The Principal Plan, whose favourites are Dekton® Ceppo and Grafite.

Guests admired the surfaces as they enjoyed a slice of Italian resplendence: the freshly made cheese wheel pasta, bubbly prosecco, and an ambience made even more reminiscent of the classic age by the live music, courtesy of the timelessly elegant tunes of the harp. A whimsical gelato cart ended the night with a sweet note.

Following up the Italian soiree was an intimate media friends dinner hosted by Chef Ivan Brehm of Michelin-starred Nouri. Seated at a long table made with Dekton® Ceppo, guests were treated to a specially crafted four-course menu lovingly put together with seasonal ingredients sustainably harvested from Nouri’s garden in Cameron Highlands.

Sustainability has always been in the heart of everything we do, from the way we create our menu to how we built our restaurants,” said Chef Brehm. “That’s why we used Dekton for almost all of our working surfaces.”

The Chef demonstrated Dekton’s exceptional durability and performance by preparing elements of the dishes directly on the surface, wowing our media friends with his world-class culinary magic while showcasing the material.

Our media friends got up-close and personal with the large-format Dekton Pietra Kode slabs, and they picked a favourite colour.

“The texture is so soft and sensual, it reminds me of natural Travertine,” said Young Lim, Editor-in-Chief of Home & Decor Magazine, whose favourite colour of the night is Dekton Marmorio. “The grains make it so easy to pair with many materials,” he added.

It has a warm tone to it, which feels very welcoming,” said Yaiza Canopoli, Associate Editor of SquareRooms Magazine, of Dekton Avorio, her favourite colour from the collection.

Our media friends also took home a multifunctional tray made from Dekton PIetra Kode.
