Coastal Guest House
Coastal Guest House
Description
A 1960s home that is utilized as a vacation rental was remodeled to turn the 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom space into three separate suites which may be rented as a 3 + 3 home or individually.
The Master Suite opened up a wall between the Kitchen and Living Area to create an open party space with a dramatic island and wine bar area. The island features a Café gas range and Zephyr-brand’s Luxe ceiling-mounted exhaust fan which operates with a wall-mounted remote control. The sink side of the Kitchen has a Café dishwasher in matte white finish while cabinet panels conceal the Fisher-Paykel built-in refrigerator. Silestone countertops with a waterfall edge create a monolithic feel to the space.
The television was relocated over the fireplace for a custom installation and the surround was given a more casual façade. What appears to be wainscot paneling is actually the original cabinetry; touch-latches replaced the original knobs.
The Master Suite originally had walk-in closets in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom closet was repurposed as a walk-in shower. The bath space now includes a free-standing Jacuzzi bathtub, large shower and double vanity area.
The Junior Suite added a laundry and mini-kitchen with under-counter refrigerator, sink and
microwave concealed behind a lift-up door in a wall cabinet by utilizing space repurposed from the Main Suite.
The Weekend Suite has an enlarged bathroom, borrowing from the Main Bath’s walk-in closet, and a combination desk/mini bar.
