This primary bathroom is part of a full condominium remodel, designed by Interiors by Popov to deliver an elegant and contemporary space that balances visual interest with long-term functionality. The clients’ brief focused on ease of use, increased storage, and a warm elevated bathroom experience that would remain practical and low maintenance over time.
Dekton was selected early in the design process and became the material foundation for the space. The clients were immediately drawn to its look and feel, while the performance characteristics aligned closely with their goals. Dekton was used extensively throughout the bathroom, including the lower half of the walls, the full shower enclosure, floor, and surround of the inset bathtub. This consistent application helped create a cohesive and visually calming environment while minimizing material transitions.
To add depth and contrast, Dekton was paired with textured tile, introducing subtle variation without disrupting the clean lines of the design. Careful planning allowed grout lines to be reduced whenever possible and aligned thoughtfully where needed, reinforcing a sense of proportion and intentionality.
With children no longer at home, the clients wanted a space that would support aging in place without sacrificing beauty. Dekton’s durability, low porosity, compatibility with heated flooring, and minimal maintenance made it the ideal choice. Beyond performance, the material provides a tactile quality and visual warmth that grounds the room.
