The Wyndham Costa del Sol hotel at Lima Airport (Peru) is a modern four-star establishment offering all the comforts for both transit travellers and those wishing to visit the city. Its contemporary and functional interior design, led by designer Renzo Cordano, includes subtle references to Peruvian identity. Given the high foot traffic in the space, Cordano chose durable and easy-to-maintain materials, relying on Dekton surfaces for various applications.
The Dekton Kira colour, for instance, with earthy tones contrasting with fine light grey veining, is used on the flooring, creating an environment that is both neutral and refined. The buffet worktop, on the other hand, is clad in Dekton Reverie. This elegant pattern reinterprets the iconic attributes of the precious Paonazzo stone with bold veining in gradients of light greys and creams, combined with oxidised terracottas and soft inked blues.
Sophistication with context
For the bar worktops, the designer chose Dekton Aeris, with a light-toned base and cream details inspired by Piedra Paloma limestone, and Dekton Laurent, a dark colour with golden veining inspired by the natural stone Port Laurent.
Continuing with this understated theme, the desks and tables feature tops in Dekton Sirius, a black with subtle greenish touches. Similarly, the lobby tables are clad in the vibrant Dekton Trance, as well as the desks in Dekton Keranium. Both pair perfectly with a central table finished in Silestone Et Noir.
The bathroom worktops, meanwhile, are clad in Dekton Kelya, inspired by dark marbles with light veining, and Dekton Somnia, a deep black with fine and elegant veining. Finally, the boardroom table features a top in Silestone Château Brown.
These colours, according to Cordano, convey both calmness and modernity, evoking mineral and natural tones of Peru. At the same time, “they ensure a timeless aesthetic that complements the lighting and furniture.”
Consistent aesthetics and maximum performance
Thanks to all these decisions, the project not only demonstrates great consistency but also meets the requirements needed to ensure the accommodation's functionality. “We chose Cosentino for its modern aesthetics, high resistance for intensive use, and versatility in various formats and applications, as well as the reliable technical support the brand offers. It allowed us to maintain a premium image and meet international accommodation standards,” explains the interior designer.
Cordano is also satisfied with Dekton's performance. “It offers quality, durability, easy maintenance, hygiene - as it is a non-porous material -, colour stability, and versatility for use in flooring, countertops, and cladding with a uniform appearance,” summarises the professional.
