This courtyard house reflects the traditional typological and climatic strategies of the Balearic area and adapts to the specific features of the site

The design of the house adopts the topographic jump of the terrain and the structure of load-bearing walls, together with the small vaults, are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the site to take advantage of the views and the movement of the breeze. The house is organized in a cross shape around a central courtyard that enhances natural lighting and air flow. A corridor surrounds the courtyard and connects the different rooms, with skylights at the top that promote air circulation.

The construction system includes low-span but very heavy vaults to ensure optimal thermal inertia. Overall, the design and materials of the house seek to improve thermal comfort and energy efficiency. The house is constructed with an outer leaf of marés and an inner leaf of perforated load-bearing brick, which provide inertia and good hydrothermal performance. The brickwork is complemented with other ceramic pieces to reduce waste and avoid cutting pieces during construction.
